In Altehira, four continents teeter on the brink as Hell’s legions stir, ancient Hell-stones tempt the power-hungry, and every nation—from the holy Sunlight Elves of Zilianga to the whisper-haunted Shadow Elves of Tahlvith—plots, rebels, or bleeds under vampires, werewolves, and demonic cults. Kings barter souls, missing heirs tip thrones, and only scattered heroes stand between the world and a second demonic war that could begin tomorrow or tonight.

World Overview

A dark fantasy with the primary evil is the demons and forces of Hell as well as political intrigue between different nations.

Geography & Nations

There’s four continents, separated by enormous seas. Norwynn: Northern and central continent Celemeria: One of the northern countries. Capital is Skogheim. Ruled by King Cedric Fallsworth. Home to various races, but humans are the natives. The second largest city in the kingdom, Emberfall is located deep in the south. It’s one of the most welcoming cities to all races. The forests and area around Emberfall is entranced in magic where the season is autumn all year around. Romanticly relations between races is accepted. Norria: Northwest of Celemeria. King Anshford Orlov rules with an iron fist. Known for a large and strong military force, the large majority of the population are humans. Known for their black armor. Magic is frowned upon if not from the king’s servants. They do not like the other races. Cold weather, a lot of snow in its northern region. Romantic relations between races is heavily frowned upon and tend to be kept secret. Frostheilm: North of Celemeria, Northeast of Norria. The country furthest to the north. Home of the Snow Dwarfs. Ruled by King Thorin Frostbeard. It’s known for it’s cold weather and climate with most of the country being covered in snow all year around. Majority of it’s people are snow dwarfs. It’s welcoming to most races. Capital is Runestad. Known for having dark blue armor. Runestad is famous for making some of the strongest armor in the world. Slagatara: South of Norria and southwest of Celemeria. The western region, Arvandil is large forests that belong to the elves and the east, Mirlenas is grasslands this belong to humans and dwarves. The regions and it’s people rarely interact with each other but are on good terms. Arvandil is ruled by the druid elders and Mirlenas is ruled by an elected Mayor. Both regions tend to ware green and white armor. Zuruk: West of Slagatara. It’s a barren wasteland that belongs to the orcs and some goblins. It is ruled by different clans. Hostile to most other races. Harsh environment with deadly creatures such as giant spiders. Altmithara: East of Slagatara. Ruled by the council of the five strongest mages in the country. The land is magically enhanced since many decades ago to always be in summer or spring season all year around. It’s capital Aqualis, is partly connected to the sea and one of the largest port towns in the continent, nicknamed “city of water”. Magic abilities are highly regarded and praised. Welcoming to most races, romantic relations between races is accepted. Tahlvith: South of Slagatara. Most commonly known as “The Shadowlands”. Home to the shadow elves. Ruled by their queen — whom is a very stric queen. The land is filled with darkness and shadow magic that has curroped the environment, where a strong light source is required at all times to be able to move between settlements. Whispers are heard in the shadows and if one stays out to long they go insane. It’s capital Thalzanad, is protected by a magical light that keeps the shadow at bay, but also a gigantic wall that separates the city into two parts. The royal and noble side on the inside of the wall and the majority of the people on the outside, where everyday could be a deadly risk. They wear purple and black armor. Hostile to the other races. Trinae: Southeast of Altmithara. Part of the Dalkan region, it’s the home of the vampires. The population is at constant war and fear of vampires. It’s ruled by King Vasilije Kraljevic and the church of Light led by archbishop Dusan Novak. It’s capital Kresnograd is protected by a large barrier of pure holy light, but other settlements aren’t as lucky and struggles most nights. Lots of forests and mountains and castles. Mostly humans live here, some dwarves and elves too but. Smaller minority. Distrusting of outsiders, less so of people from the Dalkan regions. Votara: East of Altmithara and northeast of Trinae. Part of the Dalkan region. Known as “The land of the dead” for its infamous use of necromancy and unholy magic. Ruled by five noble families, most buildings are crypts that is mostly/partly underground. Undead servants is common in most homes and services. Partly accepting of outsiders, more so if they are from the Dalkan region. Mostly humans live in the country. Zvoria: South of Votara and east of Trinae. Part of the Dalkan region. A large country, where the south has a large port towns and the north a large amount of forests. The land of werewolves, a lot of people tend to stay inside during the night, more common in the north than in the south. Ruled by King Zlavovic the third. The capital is Daonaou located north. Very welcoming of other races. Same sex relations is frowned upon. Raetia: The continent to the east: Zilianga: Land of the sunlight elves and the largest country in the world. The oldest culture alive, they are the first paladins, holy warriors against darkness, monsters and evil forces. Known for their exceptional skills with weapons, martial arts and their natural affinity with holy magic. Romantic relations among races is frowned upon. Mostly accepting of other races. Some humans live here. Kyoshoti: Largest island in the world, south of Zilianga. Home of the moon-touched elves. Gained independence from Zilianga several hundred years ago. Welcoming of outsiders. Romantically relations between races is accepted but not encouraged. Tavashir: South of Zilianga, north of Kyoshoti. A country surrounded by a large and very long gate. The gate hasn’t opened in the last year. Blightport: A large island in the middle of the sea that has been made a good trading area for sailors and pirates. Tiamatrasa: Southern continent: Qhir: Home of the Qutahli people. A large and deadly desert with giant sand dunes as far as the eye can see. It is very warm during the days and very cold at night. The capital Anhkenthenan, is inside a gigantic gate connected to a mountain. It is ruled by Qutahli king Tariq and queen Ahmose Ositris. The harsh environment and hard life has made the qutahli people very distrusting of strangers and outsiders, but welcomes them to their cities under supervision and willing to form alliances.

Races & Cultures

Humans, elves and dwarves are seen throughout the whole world. Elves have pointy ears and eyes that look like cat eyes. They tend to have a strong connection to nature and are often druids or archers. Dwarfs most commonly have large beards. They tend to be friendly, good blacksmiths and a love for alcohol. Snow dwarfs: From Frostheilm. They are very cold resistant. Friendly, they have lighter skin, hair and eye color are different shades of blue, from dark to sky blue. They are known as the best armor makers in all of Altehira. They usually use big hammers, maces or axes in combat. They get along well with most races, besides orcs and goblins. Shadow elves have light purple skin and white hair, usually pink or red eyes. They come from Tahlvith. They are extremely loyal to their queen and their nation as well as their military. They see all other races as inferior to them. Any romantic relations except for temporary sexual relations with the other races is seen as massively disgraceful. They are very skilled in their swordsmanship. Sunlight elves. Usually have blonde hair and yellow eyes that look like cat eyes and shine slightly with a yellow glow. They see themselves as children of the sun, thanks to their natural affinity with holy magic. They see themselves as superior to the other races. They are highly regarded for their magic abilities, proficiency with weapons, particularity the spear and their skills with martial arts. They are very devoted and loyal to their king, the Sun Emperor, Qilong. Romantic relations with other races is somewhat frowned upon. Moon-touched elves. They have dark blue, purple or black hair color or eyes, eyes that looks like cat eyes. They are very polite in their culture. Known for their exceptional skills with swords, their famous katana swords are unparalleled. They make weapon of silver, the strongest weapon against most monsters and creatures. Friendly to most other races. Romantic relations with other races isn't frowned upon but isn't encouraged. Qutahli: Snow white skinned people that resemble humans, but they have no body hair and always white eyes. They tend to cover their bodies in black markings or tattoos. Trust comes hard for them and they view everyone with suspicion. Romantic relations with other races is unheard of.

Current Conflicts

The invasion from Hell is a constant threat, if it happens tomorrow or in five hundred years is unknown, but still a pressing worry for many. Hell cultists all around the world try to summon demons and cause other havoc and destruction. Some people are looking for the Hell stones, fragments left behind from a thousand years ago and the last demon invasion. It’s said these Hell stones hold a fragment of the powers of Hell. In Celemeria, there are rumors that Shadow elves have been spotted. Why are they so far away from their homeland? Are they spies? Are the shadow elves planing an attack? Near Emberfall people and children have disappeared in the nearby woods as of late… Near Emberfall, in a inn called Swinehill inn, some strange occurrences seem to happen and people seem to disappear… There’s a rumor that vampires have infiltrated the city and trying to take over. There’s a rumor that the king has made a deal with a demon and that the crown princess is asking for help. The skirmishes from Norria against its borders are becoming more common, is an invasion on the way? In Frostheilm, rumors swirl that the king is dead, or there very least sick. No one has seen him lately and are only greeted by his strange and new advisor. In Alagatara, a werewolf seems to prowl the southern area. Whatever it is it leaves people dismembered and had eaten in its wake. In Slagatara, tension rise as skirmishes and fear of an invasion from Norria increases. As people from Mirlenas flee to Arvandil, the tension rises between the regions while the orcs of Zuruk push the elves to their limit in their own skirmishes. In Altmithara, there’s a slow revolution drawing as people without any magic abilities rise up against the unfair treatment from those who are magically gifted. In Altmithara, sirens have infiltrated the population, hiding in plain sight. The question is, why? In Tahlvith, the whispers go beyond the shadow covered land, reaching people beyond the boarder. This need to be stopped before it goes too far, by any means necessary. Even by allying with the shadow elves and ask for their help. In Trinae, the king’s daughter has asked for outside help to assist and find her missing brother. In Votara, the daughter of one of the ruling houses has gone missing and is asking anyone who can find her, dead or alive. In Zvoria, the werewolf attacks have become more calculated lately and organized. Find out what’s happening and what this could mean. In Zilianga, a rebellion has erupted, assist in stooping it. In Kyoshoti, find out who is trying to dethrone the queen. Find out what has happened to Tavashir and why they have isolated themselves. Rumors say it’s an illness related to the undead. Go to Qhir and create an alliance with its people and help them with their own conflicts.

Magic & Religion

Magic is learned, it takes long time and is very hard, not everyone is able to learn or control magic. Some people are born to do it naturally while others, such as warlocks makes deals with demons to be able to use magic. There’s arcane magic. The most common is elements magic. Druid magic is related to nature. Shadow magic is darkness and psychic. Holy magic is often used for healing. Unholy magic is dark such as necromancy. Most people believe in the Light, some say it’s a lasting power left from the long gone angels and some believe it’s part of the sun itself. The Druid society’s believe in Mother Nature. Some people believe in demons of Hell.

Planar Influences

Hell. Different rent types of demons come to the mortal plane to make deals with mortals, seduce, manipulate and take over or take the souls of people. Either for their own gain or for a more powerful demon.

Historical Ages

The war of the world against the invading forces of Hell happened a thousand years ago. Hell lost, but some scars still remain across the world. The sunlight elves was the primary force against hell.

Economy & Trade

The most common currency is copper, silver and gold. A hundred copper is one silver and a hundred silver is one gold. The port towns are major trade routes eighth the other continents.

Law & Society

Justice is determined differently in each country. Most societies either approve or are indifferent to adventures, as long as they don’t break their country’s laws.
