World Overview

High magic, medium tech, ruled by a technocracy. Solar punk theme. The world has been ravaged by and destroyed by pollution and nuclear/atomic war. The land has become irradiated and barely inhabitable. There a floating islands and island in the seas because all the continents have been broken up. There’s a rigid caste system that separates demographics by access to technology. The highest elites have the best technology, the lowest and poorest people have almost no technology but use vast magic to compensate. Magic and Technology are both strong, however magic is seen as a rare lost art that has recently returned. The elites may have heard of magic but it’s been far too long for them to have any accuracy’s expectations for it. Certain demographics will praise you for magic and view technology as heresy while other demographics will treat technology as king and be very dismissive and belittle magic. Everyone’s view on each is relative to their level on the caste system, and their region. There is a royal family that owns almost everything and runs the world government as kings, multiple small government factions, multiple guilds, and rebel unions looking to overthrow the current government regime.

Geography & Nations

All the floating islands are a lawless anarchy. There are 15 islands in the water all under royal family government. There are nomadic kingdoms under water tha follow their own government that is religious based, they pray to a gaint sea serpent.

Races & Cultures

Solar punk themed. The elites and rich model their culture after Victorian era Europe with a futuristic twist. These are human, cyborg, and android people. The richer they are the more ther bodies are mixed with technological upgrades. The middle demographics in the caste system, the medium wage and working societies have strong bodies, few technological enhancements and a mix of some magic as well. The medium and working wage have a medieval crusade aesthetic if it was based in year 3245 as. The poorest people that live as nomads going from island to island utilize one or 2 technological enhancements and use mainly magic and insignias on their bodies. The poor have a future solar punk mad max aesthetic. They are multiple different races in each level of the caste.

Current Conflicts

There is tensions between each level one the caste system because the world is dying and the people who prefer magic and the people who prefer technology are waring with each other over which is to be used to fix the problem. The magic users believe their use of magic, that comes from the gods they believe in, will save the world with minimal impact to the environment. They have internal conflicts based on the gods they draw power from. They all seek to end the technocrats. The rich who believe technology can save the world exploit eachother and ravage the earth for resources to power their machines. They can save the earth but it will only save a few, not the many. They have internal conflicts based on what powers their technologies and solutions.

Magic & Religion

There is 1 main god of light and chaos, that created 4 primordial gods that rule over the 4 elements of air, earth, fire, water. Then under them is 8 deities that govern the concepts of war, peace, love, hate, death, life, honesty, and deception. Magic derives from your alignment, blesssings, or curses you get from these gods. You can use magic without channeling the powers of a god and it is highly risky but are very strong. They are found in varies temple son the islands in various tomes and books. People who believe in gods of opposing concepts have conflicts with eachother, however ascertaining blessing from all gods will make you almighty, immortal, and indestructible. The technocracy believes in power granted to them through a singular god that blesss them with knowledge and blesssings of the mind body and soul.

Historical Ages

There was originally the magic era.technology was basic while the world was powered on magic and was beautiful and nature filled. Then came the technological era with the invention of unobtainium boosted the technological capabilities which lead to the dark ages where nature was being used to power these industrial systems. Seeking power cause war and the pollution from the machines darkened the earth and war destroyed the land which broke all the islands up. Now we are in a reclamation period where magic is back on the uprise in the technological dominant era and they are fighting for dominance and the right to choose how the world will be saved.

Monsters & Villains

All types of supernatural beings and mythical creatures that exist as mutations due to pollution, some cyborg mixed animals, some magic animals, and wide variety of regular everyday creatures and animals. There are some titan level creatures who have blessings from gods that are very strong and defeating them can give extremely strong blessings that come with a dire curse.
