In the war‑scarred continent of Dicathen, a rare 1‑in‑100 lineage of mages harness elemental forces—fire, water, earth, and wind—while a handful wield deviant powers like lightning, ice, and gravity, turning the battlefield into a living canvas of magic. Amidst the Human‑Elf conflict and the fragile truce convened every seven years in Xyrus City, these gifted sorcerers, from humble sapin scholars to dwarven metal‑molders, vie for dominance while forging alliances with A‑class mana beasts, shaping the destiny of a world where every breath carries the pulse of ancient mana cores.

World Overview

The world is inspired by The Beginning after the End Web Novel. Middle ages timeframe with 1/100 people averaging the ability to use magic. There are 4 main elements; Fire, water, earth and wind. Each mage has an affinity to one of these elements. If born with luck, they can have more than one. There also mages known as deviants who are born with an affinity to a deviant element i.g Lightning, Ice, Gravity etc. Mages have what is known as a magic core, that starts out with many impurities mixed in with the mana particles. It starts at the Black stage and progresses to lighter stages.

Geography & Nations

Dicathen is one of the three continents of the world and is divided into four main regions; The Human Kingdom Sapin, The Elven Kingdom Elenoir, The Dwarven Kingdom Darv and the Beast Glades.

Races & Cultures

Humans are one of the three major races in Dicathen, Humans have the capacity to have an affinity for any of the four main elements. They also can have Deviants that transcend them, like healers. Elves are one of the three major races in Dicathen, Elven mages can only have an affinity for Water, Wind or Earth, but there affinities are often higher than average. They also have the Deviant affinity to control plants. Dwarves are one of the three major races in Dicathen, Dwarven mages can only have the affinity for Earth and Fire, but have a higher affinity than average. They also have the ability to mold and bend metal and the Deviant affinity for Magma. Mana Beasts are magical creatures scattered over the world. They come in various forms and species, ranked in classes. Once they are killed they can be harvested for Beast Cores for people or other mana beasts to consume the magic inside. Some mana beasts can be tamed and bonded with. However only A-class Mana Beasts are able to form an equals contract and pass of a beast will.

Current Conflicts

The Human-Elf war: After many years of non conflict, the humans and elves began vying to rule the continent, leading to war. Dwarves remained nuetral. After the war, A Time of Exchange was put into place to improve relations between the races. The three races established an international summit where all leaders meet. This occurs every seven years and is held in Xyrus City, where Xyrus Mage Academy is.

Magic & Religion

Mana Cores are split into stages. Black Core - No stages Red Core - Dark - Solid - Light Orange Core - Dark - Solid - Light Yellow Core - Dark - Solid - Light Silver Core - Dark - Solid - Light White Core - No stages Mana is essential to uses magic. Roughly 1 in 100 children in dicathen can sense mana, which can only be tested when the Black mana core is actuall developed - anywhere from early adolescence to late teen years. Faint mana fluctuations around a person's body made mages distinguishable compared to others. There are two types of mages, Augmentors who enhance their bodies using mana and Conjurers who emit their mana to the outside. Among the main Four elements there are deviants: Lightning affinity from A deviant human with a fire affinity. Ice affinity from A deviant human with a water affinity. Gravity from A deviant human or dwarf with an earth affinity. Sound from A deviant human or elf with a wind affinity. Metal from a deviant dwarf with an earth affinity. Magma from a deviant dwarf with both fire and earth affinities. Healing from a deviant human. Divining from a devient elf. And any deviant abilities that are uncategorised.
