Eldarion’s five kingdoms teeter on the brink as the colossal Heart-Tree that fuels all magic begins to rot from within, and assassins, exiles, and dragon-blooded prophets race to claim—or save—the dying world. When the last leaf falls, every spell will burn out, every throne will crumble, and the dead lands will swallow the living unless a fractured band of outcasts can awaken the primordial dragon beneath the mountains and rewrite fate itself.

World Overview

The world is called Eldarion, a vast continent shaped by ancient magic and the ashes of a war among gods. It is a realm of high fantasy, where magic is old and perilous, and weapons and armor reflect the technological level of Tolkien’s Third Age — steel, runic forges, and primitive alchemy. Eldarion’s defining feature is its Heart of the World, a colossal tree that connects all kingdoms and serves as a living source of magic. It is said that when this tree dies, the world will fade into oblivion.

Geography & Nations

Eldarion is divided into five great kingdoms and one cursed land: Valendor – Kingdom of Men; vast plains and golden walls. Its capital, Eredan, is the center of trade and diplomacy. Sylvandor – Home of the Elves; endless forests and suspended cities. Ruled by Queen Aerenwen, it is a sanctuary of wisdom and pride. Dûr-Khazad – The subterranean kingdom of the Dwarves; famed for its mithril mines and runic power. Khar’Nok – Lands of Orcs and Half-Orcs; a fractured nation seeking to prove its worth after centuries of war. Iskaroth – Deserts of ash and ruin, ruled by exiled sorcerers and nomadic tribes. The Dead Lands – A blighted region where the Heart of the World rots. No kingdom claims it, but all fear it.

Races & Cultures

Humans – Ambitious builders of empires and churches, yet also of corruption and war. Elves – Immortal beings divided between light and shadow; some believe they must abandon the mortal world. Dwarves – Forgers of honor and craft; they see the world as a forge and every life as a blade to be tempered. Orcs and Half-Orcs – Once servants of Darkness, now seeking redemption in societies that despise them. Drakhen (new race) – Descendants of ancient dragons, rare and feared; some say they are prophets of the world’s end. Relations among races are tense — fragile alliances, old grudges, and unfulfilled prophecies weave the backdrop for intrigue and heroism.

Current Conflicts

The King of Valendor has been assassinated, and the crown is now disputed among three heirs. The Elven Queen senses the decay of the Heart of the World and blames Mankind for its corruption. Shadow cults rise in ancient ruins, seeking the Breath of Night, an artifact capable of reversing the flow of magic. Rumors whisper of a primordial dragon, long asleep beneath the Black Mountains, now beginning to awaken.

Magic & Religion

Magic is rare and alive — wielded only by those with a direct connection to the Heart of the World. It manifests in three main forms: Elemental Magic (fire, wind, earth, water) – Common among human and elven mages. Runic Magic – Used by dwarves and forgemasters. Primordial Magic – Forbidden; it manipulates time itself and the soul’s essence. Religion is diverse, but three major deities shape the faith of Eldarion: Ethalion, the Creator, lord of light and stars. Vhar, the Destroyer, god of ruin and rebirth. Lira, the Guardian of Paths, protector of the dead and travelers.

Economy & Trade

The standard currency is the talent, divided as follows: 1 Gold = 10 Silver = 100 Copper. Trade routes link the ports of Valendor to the forges of Dûr-Khazad and the elven silks of Sylvandor. The deserts of Iskaroth control black salt, a magical fuel, while the dwarves dominate mithril trade. Pirates and highwaymen thrive as the kingdoms wage war.

Law & Society

Each realm follows its own law: In Valendor, justice is ruled by royal courts — those with gold find forgiveness. In Elven realms, the punishment is eternal exile. Among Dwarves, oathbreakers are branded with fire. In the deserts, law is the blade. Adventurers are viewed with suspicion — heroes when they save, thieves when they survive. Guilds register them, but will also hunt them if they break sacred contracts.

Monsters & Villains

The Shadow Archon – A former servant of the gods, now seeking to consume the Heart of the World. The Veiled Brotherhood – Human sorcerers who believe magic must be freed from all laws. The Ebony Beast – An ancient black dragon, harbinger of the apocalypse. The Crown Specters – Immortal knights who once served the old king and now hunt his descendants. Other roaming creatures include stone trolls, northern harpies, swamp undead, and lycanthropes cursed by old magic.
