In Esprit, the sprawling capital of Codia—where a mage tower, fighter’s guild, and a shadowy undercity coexist—threats from Hell’s fiends and the lingering scars of a demigod war loom over a world where magic is rare yet deadly. Adventurers, once celebrated, now walk a razor‑thin line between glory and exile as they navigate a land fractured by divine betrayal, racial prejudice, and the relentless march of ancient dragons, orcs, and snow elves across the Mutatio range.

World Overview

Medieval Fantasy, magic is uncommon but not rare.

Geography & Nations

The Primary Kingdom is Codia, it's capital is Baramont. To it's west at it's dock is a massive river called the river of souls, many days of travel to the northeast is the Mutatio mountain range that harbors dragons, orcs, snow elves, and similar creatures. To the east is the village named Siren's end, known for it's extravagant population. In the north as well is the religious city Torime, house to the saint marika, and her 12 paladins. To the south is the great desert, home to leonin and tabaxi commonly, filled with various cleric and paladin orders. Within the city of Baramont, capital of the kingdom, is a fighter's guild, mage tower, adventurer's guild, and artificer's guild, below it is the undercity, hub of crime, slavery, and dark deals. Only allowed to exist as it pulls crime out of the upper city, isolating it below.

Races & Cultures

Humans are the majority, however all races are known to live here, typically in smaller communities within large cities. As some discremination still exists.

Current Conflicts

Several conflicts have left the population tense, the scorched war brought on by the adventurer's of old. By killing the demon lord over hell they released his armies on earth, devestating hundreds of thousands. Only 40 years later the second enmity arose, while the population was left mostly intact, the strong demigods that arose from that conflict killed nearly every hero of old, leaving the future to those of less experience. The Goddess saught to redirect the people, this was seen as good to all but the few remaining old heroes, she was defeated, leaving the world without a God, but for such a cardinal sin, the heroes remaining, were banished and forgotten. The most renown was Leiht, previous head of the mage tower, he contributed greatly in the Goddess' demise and for that purpose, any aid given to him was an offense punishable by death, and all elves are regarded with descrimination as well as a result.

Magic & Religion

All magic is inner, sorcerers have the easiest access and control over it, but wizards still have mana of their own, they just need books to draw it out. Paladins and clerics use magic themselves, and from their extreme devotion, it is molded to fit the God or Goddess they worship, often receiving small helps from their chosen divine.

Planar Influences

Hell is notorious for opening portals to release fiends into the world, there is a realm named the fade, that is the home of chaotic magic, it can only be accessed by the soul of a person with magic, and cannot interact with the world. Mages can only interact with it. The feywild exists but is primarily hidden and unknown.

Historical Ages

The Golden Age heralded by the Time King Luone, lasted as long as his life. He had the might of a demigod, the age he created can only be barely mantained, and no king since will ever compare.

Law & Society

Justice typically is strict, the times of mercy have long passed. Execution is common, though not public. It is often simple, and brutal, poison in their food, or a knife to their throat in their jail cell. Adventurers are often seen as mercenaries, morally questionable individuals that seek danger for money, they command very little respect unless they themselves as an individual have earned a respectable name for themselves.

Monsters & Villains

Demons and Fiends are very common, but petty warfare, warring nobles, bandits, and such are never far. But the war has always been against hell.
