World Overview

A world where demons and humans co-exist. Magic is evident, but only in the form of prayers and pain. In this world, the Celestial Chronical is mankind's chance of surviving against the demons, and all humans must follow it to the core, or else they will be executed. You can either become a priest (many hierarchies), a bounty hunter, a knight (many hierarchies), mercenaries, a cultist or simply be regular farmers and traders. There are 12 Holy Weapons waiting for discovery, magical relics to fight against demons, and the material can be used to craft weapons as well. This world is corrupted, even the rulers of "safe havens" are not so pure themselves.

Geography & Nations

There are 7 Celestial Kingdoms, considered safe havens from demons, each with its own Grand Crown. Each kingdom contains about 10-15 cities. The Kingdoms are several days apart (2-4 days). The 9 Sacred Altars are hidden places across the world, each imprisoning parts of something much more demonic. Other people that don't live in the 7 Celestial Kingdoms have towns and cities, but are more prone to demon attacks and misfortune. Kingdom of Prudence: Led by Grand Crown Seraphiel Dawnward, his kingdom excels in craftsmanship of weapons and gear. The land is surrounded by 3 mountains, and is rich in minerals. Snowy weather occurs almost daily. Kingdom of Justice: Led by Grand Crown Caelestis Brightshield, his kingdom excels in sword fighting and is the place where important figures are sent for trials and/or execution. The land is mostly flat with little bumpy terrain. Warm weather occurs many times per week. Kingdom of Temperance: Led by Grand Crown Seraphina Lightweaver, her kingdom excels in healing magic through the Celestial Chronical. The land is surrounded by the Holy Forest, where many of precious medicine plants and animals reside. Slightly humid weather. Kingdom of Fortitude: Led by Grand Crown Thaddeon Graceborn, his kingdom produces the only soldiers that use pain and suffering as fuel and power for combat. The kingdom is located in a flat area, and unlike the others, people who are not of service to the Grand Crown must live outside of its walls. Chilly weather occurs daily. Kingdom of Faith: Led by Grand Crown Eliadon Sanctus. He is the nephew of the Supreme Grand Priest. His kingdom excels in exorcism magic through the Celestial Chronicle. The land is mostly flat, and many places in the city are packed with relics and holy symbols. It is also the place where the Altar of Absolute Truth reside, only accessible to priests of influence and the Supreme Grand Priest himself. Weather is always relaxing and perfect. People of no status and role can not enter. Kingdom of Hope: Led by Grand Crown Evangeline Aurelsaint, her kingdom excels in archery and ranged magic. The land is located near the ocean, and it is the place with the biggest trading port out of all kingdoms, alongside fertile land and cattle. Considered the king of supplies. Weather is constantly a little windy and warm at the same time, with rain occurring a few times per week. Kingdom of Charity: Led by Grand Crown Celestia Faithwarden, her kingdom excels in cosmetics and is the home to many mercenaries, bounty hunters, and desperate people. The land is filled with taverns and hotels. Located in a hilly place, with constant dreading weather.

Races & Cultures

There are only 2 races that inhabit the world: human race and demon race. However, each of the races have different roles. Humans can be come a priest, which includes these ranks from bottom to top: Novice, Devoted, Grand, Supreme, Supreme Grand (single title holder) Or become a knight, archer or lancer, which includes these ranks from bottom to top: Novice, Grand Crown's, Holy Or become an exorcist and/or healer, which includes these ranks from bottom to top: Novice, Excellent, True, The One (single title holder). Or become a cultist, worshipping demons with a mission to bring the two Calamities of Hell into the world. Or just be regular people, and trade or sell things. For demons, there are many different kinds, ranked from least to most dangerous: spectres, ghouls, parademons, transformed demons (human->demon), half-demons, true demons, The Grotesque of Deepest Misery (single title holder), The Abomination of True Fear (single title holder). Fatality rates and population of each are: Spectres: cause 1,000 deaths per year (30%) Ghouls: cause 5,000 deaths per year (25%) Parademons: cause 8,000 deaths per year (20%) Transformed demons: cause 15,000 deaths per year (11%) Half-demons: cause 20,000 deaths per year (8%) True demons: cause 30,000 deaths per year (5.999%) The Grotesque of Deepest Misery: unknown (1/single) The Abomination of True Fear: unknown (1/single) Humans and demons are constantly at war. Demons hunt for flesh and blood all the time. Spectres mainly hunts for people's minds, and the weak-willed are easily preyed upon. Demons scatter everywhere, mainly near places where cultists exist because of high chances for blood. Low-level demons are the majority, however as a normal human you have a slim chance against parademons but virtually no chance against transformed demons or higher. Magic users and knights have a good chance against parademons and lower level demons.

Current Conflicts

As the Grand Crowns become more corrupted by choosing to be tyrants, enslaving and inflicting pain and cruelty upon more of their subjects, people are turning away from the Holy way and instead mistake summoning demons as a way to real salvation. To summon the two Calamities of Hell, which would most certainly bring doom to the world, human sacrifices, along with many books and relics of dark magic, and the nine Sacred Altars where the two Calamites of Hell are imprisoned, piece by piece, must be protected before cultists invade and free them all.

Magic & Religion

There are two main magics: Holy and Demonic Holy magic: includes healing magic, exorcism magic, and light attack magics. Each person can only use one kind of magic, as two or more will most definitely destroy their bodies and annihilate their minds. Demonic magic: includes blood magic, necromancy, and mind control. Like Holy magic, one person can only use one type of magic at a time. Using two or more will kill the user. The only person who can use all 3 kinds of Holy magic is the Supreme Grand Priest, who is rumored to be immortal, and can talk to people telepathically. He controls everything that humans must do and follow, and is the second highest power in this world. The highest power is the Celestial Chronicle, in which humans use its knowledge and divinity to borrow its powers. It isn't sentient, but it is indestructible.

Planar Influences

There is a different reality that has only been accessible by the Supreme Grand Priest, which is called the Eternal Plane of Existence. There, the Supreme Grand Priest can tap into anyone's mind that is connected to the faith in the Celestial Chronicle, talk to them, and guide them. The Supreme Grand Priest can also access the Eternal Fountain, which grants him immortality (ageless only) and amplifies his connection with the Celestial Chronicle. The Eternal Plane of Existence can also bring him into the past, at any point and any place in time. He cannot alter it however. The Eternal Plane of Existence only allows one worthy individual to access it, but the individual can grant access to anyone.

Historical Ages

The First Holy War: The first Supreme Grand Priest, along with many strong and powerful magic users, knights, and the human race fought together to subdue The Two Calamities of Hell and the army of demons. After that victory, demons had to scatter the land, and The Two Calamities of Hell were bind and sealed in 9 different places, far from reach and unknown to almost everyone in existence. They then were called the 9 Sacred Altars. 7 of the strongest individuals that helped the First Supreme Grand Priest established their own kingdoms, sworn absolute loyalty to the Supreme Grand Priest, and established peace and follow the Celestial Chronicle. Now, after hundreds of generations, the new Grand Crowns have started to become more corrupt and abusive, leading their citizens and outsiders to choose the life as a cultist and a main goal of freeing The Two Calamities of Hell as a punishment to these unjust rulers. With this going on, the kingdoms' and cultists are at a race to see who can find all 9 Sacred Altars first, and put an end to the other side.

Economy & Trade

Currency is called Celestial Coins, or cc for short. Most people sustain themselves with trading and selling goods, animals, products, or work as servants and soldiers for the Grand Crown. Kingdoms trade with each other or buy from each other's specialty field. Biggest trading ports and areas are in the Kingdom of Hope.

Law & Society

Justice delivered under the oath of faith. Heathens, cultists, and the faithless will be executed and/or tried as stated in the Celestial Chronicle. Societies view adventurers as brave, but also stupid and foolish because of the many dangers that surround the world.

Monsters & Villains

The world is torn apart by two factions: Corrupted rulers of the 7 Celestial Kingdoms and The Supreme Grand Priest's growing ignorance. The other side are demons and cultists, working to free the worst nightmares of humanity into existence again.
