Amidst this grim urban sprawl, a cabal of cursed radio waves, a seductive ancient god, and a network of underground mummies and forest brothers all conspire to pull the nation toward a blood‑stained revolution that blurs the line between politics and the abyss.

World Overview

High magic, urban, modern world. 90s-2000s aesthetics and technology levels. Very World of Darkness inspired, with ghastly creatures lurking about everywhere. The setting in the campaign takes place in one city primarily, though mentions of neighbouring countries are still there.

Geography & Nations

The campaing takes place primarily in one Livsonian city. Livsonia is a nordic country, though not small in size. It neighbours a much hotter country to it's south, Aphroa, which is much more lax on the pursuit and uprooting of the occult. Livsonia is cold, depressing, but full of activity and opportunity. The summers are warm, the winters twice as cold, spent by their residents in the dingy, post-Rubikon (this universe's version of the soviet Union) apartments.

Races & Cultures

To the average person, the only race is, of course, the human race. Though secretly, all types of magical being exist, most of them in hiding for very good reason. Werwolves, animalistic and naturally strong, often celebrity sports stars. Vampires, of course, who rule one generation through another, though mostly remain in the deep state, under the dark veil of society. There is everything, Zombies, centaurs, mutants and such. The only thing one must do, is *see*.

Current Conflicts

The country of Livsonia is divided in a power struggle. To the East, a Rubikon-centered, communist cabal of vampires seek to reestablish the proletariat and succeed a large part of the country, inevitably resulting in a terrible civil war and joining forces with Livsonia's political enemy, Holodya (this universe's russia). The west of Livsonia, however, is under control mostly by the government, having deployed a secret program of occult hunters whose goal is to uproot the supernatural and exterminate any and all non-humans. The southern part of Livsonia is mostly unpopulated due to it's hotter, unpleasant climate, though secretly a lot of underground communities live there, in particular, a group of Mummies called "the winders", whose main goal is to surveil society. They are the scholars of this setting and primarily the people to go to whenever one needs information. THat is, if course, if someone managed to find out about them. Finally, there is the northern "Forest Brothers", a pack of werewolves with immence social capital, having most of the popular entertainers under their belt and shaping public opinion into whatever suits them. Current threats include: An occult group of humans sacrificing people in order to summon an ancient god of lust. radio station at the top of Livsonia's highest hill that is transmitting waves which gives people an irrisistable urge to kill or commit suicide. Various blood banks entangled in a net of human trafficking and blood harvesting. An affluent and charismatic politician, who is a vampire and uses his charm to brainwash the public. A sportsperson, recently admitted as world's strongest man, who is a 300 year old werewolf. A government recruitment program for occult hunters. A seperate government kidnapping program that tests the occult's effects on the population (things as portals, summoning demons from hell for meat, curses, etc.). In the old, abandoned trenches of the Unruly War, undead ghouls still stalk and shoot indiscriminantly (the government having walled off the entire area with an excuse of it being biologically endangered). Throughout the setting, one can meet various characters of influence, all of them somehow entangled in a bigger plot. Also numerous side characters.

Magic & Religion

Officially recognized religions are just like the real worlds, however of course, there are many ore satanic ones, almost a different one for each god. To harness a God's power, one must swear patronage to them, appearing as a mark somewhere on their body and granting them moderate-strength powers. Other than that, magic is mostly learned through experience, but the most prevelant kind of magic within the universe is curse magic. Curses are temporary (unless the caster is super strong) disadvantages that take effect upon some sort of trigger, or last for a while. They can be as negligable as "for the next minute, you will sneeze every 10 seconds" or as bad as "for the rest of your life, you will lose your sense of smell, hearing, sight and touch". Other than the curse system, which is usually used in the heat of combat, there is also the contract system. One may make contracts with devils, but that requires first summoning said devil and surviving first contact. If the devil deems one viable, they may offer a contract, which varies in severity (think chainsawman contracts).

Planar Influences

There are various planes that can be accessed, but they must be done so through magic, unless the veil between worlds is thin in some natural places, in that case, portals may open up on their own.

Historical Ages

same as the real world

Economy & Trade

The country uses Reviol. The value is identical to the real life Euro

Law & Society

Justice is administered just as it would be in the real world (when the judges are the government). WHen speaking about the occult, the government usually executes non-humans without trial, however if it is a public case, they may bend or come up with charges.
