In Mareiba, five continents wage brutal wars for territory and raw materials while the outlawed magic fuels a perilous black market, turning half‑bred elves and fae‑haunted humans into hunted trophies. Amid oppressive laws and rampant religious cults, a simmering clash between the imperial might of Grenaw and the industrial surge of Rea threatens to erupt into a continent‑wide catastrophe.

World Overview

Most nations are at war, and aside from Religion the biggest Motive for it is simply the gain of territories. there are protests against the governments and racial stigmas against magic users and anyone with fae heritage. Magic and all things related are considered banned or at the very least taboo, which leads to unions and hidden black markets. Civilisation is close to the victorian age, perhaps a bit earlier.

Geography & Nations

The world's name is Maria, there are 5 continents: Grenaw; Nahda; Rea; Mondru; Glaseea Grenaw is historically the stronger amongst the continents one and the one with most colonies; Mondru is the less advanced one but is rich of raw materials therefore the most targeted one by the other nations; Rea is the the most industrialised and the only real threat to Grenaw but is the one with the most internal conflicts; Nahda is the warmest of all the continents and although it's divided in tribes instead of ducats like the rest of the contents they are known for their brute strength and fearlessness; Glaseea is too cold to be habitable by most intelligent species and a no-man's land.

Races & Cultures

the most common races are: human; dwarves; elves; halflings; gnomes; Tabaxis;tieflings and all their subspecies. there are rarer pieces too, such as Merpeople, Minotaurs, centaurs, fairies and pixies, orcs and a few more who went totally extinct, like changelings and dragon shifters. most these other races are hunted for magical properties, slaughtered and sold on the black market, and those who aren't are captured and enslaved, with the exception of a few safe oasis.

Current Conflicts

though every continent and every right has it's internal problems, there are three mayor wars going on, one started as most wars do, tensions between tribes on two Nahda tribes, one killed the son of a chief and a conflict begun, when other tribes got involved it escalated and broke out in war. when other nations got involved, interested mostly in the risirces of the land and sending weapons and manpowers to a tribe or the other. Mondru houses an other big scale conflict that has been going on for decades, ever since the other nations invaded to suck dry the lands, putting slaves at work in mines and plantations, the tens climate and intense poverty sparked both revolutions from the workers and natives, and conflicts between the colonising nations, one particularly nasty revolution begun when the hungry people demanded food from the rich courts and where delivered a few brioches. The last major conflict hasn't sparked just yet but tensions are high between Grenaw, the strongest nation since the beginnings of time, both military and economically, and the quickly expanding and industrialising Rea.

Magic & Religion

Most nations try to discourage religious activities but few ducats actually ban it , and most dieties lay dormant or simply do not exist, the growing lack of faith doesn't make them too relevant in the political scenery, but there are small cults and churches scattered allover, both good and bad.

Planar Influences

to reach an other plane is perhaps the most difficult thing, not reachable through the use of magic alone, but by a lifetime of studies and meditation under a mentor's guidance.

Historical Ages

most historical records come from Grenaw, small villages slowly came together during the centuries and became ducats, in the beginning most races lived with each other, the because of political gain a lot of them where forced to isolation, some even hunted to extinction.

Economy & Trade

economy is mostly based on agriculture, but industries and production chains are quickly growing and changing the market, which some traders take advantage on. the main transportation methods still rely on carriages, there are a few train tracks being built but they are few and ill connected and most people don't thrust the big change. there's a growing dark market for all things magic the prices are high and being involved in any way with those trades is very dangerous.

Law & Society

law are strict and oppressive in most nations, the biggest restrictions are on magic use, with most involved ending up at the pike. the free and frequent use of the death penalty makes most citizens keep their head low and mind their business.

Monsters & Villains

Deus Vulture is by far the most depraved cult there is among all other cults, from scarification ritual to ritualist cannibalism they hide among society and act in outmost secrecy, acknowledging themself in public with one single phrase "Omnia Munda in tenebris". aside from them and a few deranged fanatics most religion are harmless. Most sentient creatures don't attack unless instigated somehow.
