In MarrowLands, the once-great kingdom of Malmoriél has become a swamp of undead and demonic corruption, while the free city of Xöjdra rises as a gleaming bastion of order amid the chaos, its golden armies striving to tame the darkness that devours all other nations. Here, every human, elf, or demonically possessed soul must choose between the seductive, deadly magic of shadow and the brutal, desperate fight for survival in a world where no nation truly stands for good.

World Overview

Based in a fantasy setting, where the latest advancement is that of catapult, and mid to advanced level castle building, the world inhabited mostly by humans. Basic shops, thievery, and brawlers common. This is a spiritually dark world, where men, and armies fight amongst themselves, while demonic entities of shadow consume that which humanity destroys. There are no good nations or forces in this world. All factions burn, rape, and pillage what they can from the others. Malmoriél would be considered the dynasty kingdom of the world, having the furthest advancements, and influence on the realm. This kingdom of Malmoriél was said to have participated in ritual magic, communing with entities beyond the veil of existence, to attain knowledge, and blessings from divine beings. What they communed with were ancient entities of shadow, bending the simple minds of men to allow demonic possession, living and craving combat inside their living hosts. King Malor of Malmoriél also took part in this ritual, allowing a powerful archfiend to live inside of him, to slowly corrupt his mind for what he thought was justice. All kingdoms of the land were quick to rise against their dynasty, gathering an army, and turning on them too hastily to be seen in foresight. King Malor did not only lost his life thay day, he lost his very soul. King Malor's son, Brarion, his only heir also lost his life in that battle, the world, and all kingdoms quickly resuming to their savage ways under individual banners. Approximately 700 years has passed, the lands of Malmoriél so corrupt with undead, vengeful energies, that its spread thick, plagued, swampy marshland over the entire continent. Ones who linger there are said to go mad, never being heard from again. Some say the energies twist their flesh, turning them to foul creatures of darkness. It's legend that before King Malor died, he opened some kind of gateway into the realm of demonic entities, allowing them to linger only so far from the portal to their true home beyond shadow, terraforming the continent of Malmoriél in it's image. The horned bear of the Malmorion crest is purely a myth in current culture, the black, jagged style of armor never seen before in the eyes of folk who don't partake in myth. The most powerful city in today's world is Xöjdra, an opulent, pure city, who's goal has always been to establish proper order to the MarrowLands. They are what the Malmorions used to be, high influence on the land, but for good purpose, not bad.
