World Overview

Magic is a fairly unexplored topic in this world. Magic has a high ceiling but we are in the carpet right now. medieval tech. There is an element called Koreum that has multiple uses including drug production and as a tool for magic experiments and catalyists. Koreum is very rare and restricted in its trade.

Geography & Nations

The continent of Priusmeth is dominated by 3 major kingdoms, The Kearland Dynasty to the west, the Wroatian Empire in the middle, and Cuedante Empire to the east. The Kearland Dynasty is almost entirely dominated by dwarves in the boreal and spruce forests. The north of their territory is frozen in the Chained Expanse, the frozen wasteland the south has swampy marshes, and the east border is lined with the mountain ranges of Castello, their capital. To the east of the mountains lies the Wroatian Empire, with the northern portion of their territory covered by the red desert of the Red Depravity. The south is mostly plains and hills of the small towns. Nyvion is the capital of Wroatian Empire and sits on the east side of the Red Depravity. The eastern part of the continent is the deep jungles and forests of the Cuedante Empire and their capital Illiristai that sits on the Exego Loch in the middle of the elven forest.

Races & Cultures

Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Halflings, and a few mixed races exist though in very small amounts. most humans live in the Wroatian Empire, most dwarves in the Kearland Dynasty, and most elves in the Cuedante Empire. If any of these races meet they will likely be friendly.

Current Conflicts

The 3 powers have a mostly positive relationship on the surface. Under the surface they are all struggling in a resource war not open to the public for Koreum. If any of the powers make enough advances in magic, they could theoretically take over the continent with that power. but for now on the surface everything is good between them.

Magic & Religion

Magic is relatively unexplored. Most religions have banned the use of magic outside of the sanctioned chosen that are allowed to perform the miracles for the churches. Arcane magic is in a underground arms race to discover the means by which to make your will be known. the inherent magic of sorcerers is banned across the continent forcing those with such powers to hide their powers. Koreum can be used as a catalyst and focus for magic but generally does not make it more powerful. Deities are generally benign except for the nature spirits and the Twins, Pelor and Lareign. Respectively the Sun God and the Moon Godess.

Planar Influences

Generally they do not, though on rare occasions there have been momentary breaches that send entities, both good and bad, through.

Historical Ages

This story takes place in the 4th age. The 1st age saw the many races live harmoniously, though poor in technology, people were treated well. The 2nd age was a time of Chaos where the Evil Titan Shao reigned. The 3rd age was the great reset. The Great Twins scattered Shao among the stars but in doing so scattered the races across the world. In the 4th age, Man (people in general) is recovering.

Economy & Trade

They use the generic copper, silver, gold, platinum system for trade. Pretty much every civilization has a trade route with the major cities nearby. The barter system still rules though a gold will spend in most shops.

Law & Society

Justice is hard, crimes that injure a persons way of life, like theft, are punished very harshly sometimes to the point of death. Adventurers are seen as people who are chasing glory in a world where it is rare. Necessary in cases of extreme need but otherwise just a thing to tolerate.

Monsters & Villains

Nearly every evil in the world is influenced, directly or indirectly, by Igor the Lich King. Most don't know it, but the few who do are either on his side or using everything they have to try and stop him.
