In Starbound Terra, humanity has shattered Earth’s modern order with Dimensional Gates and celestial Constellations that bestow martial powers, while warlords vie for sky dominance in the War of Signs—each champion’s deeds literally ink the heavens. Amidst Gate Cities, Twilight Zones, and Star Shrines, regressed warriors wield future knowledge to rewrite fate, all while a shadowy Circle of the Empty Sky threatens to erase the stars that now govern life itself.

World Overview

Starbound Terra is a modern Earth shattered by the sudden appearance of Dimensional Gates and the descent of Constellations — celestial beings who observe, sponsor, and empower mortal fighters. Humans can awaken as Constellation Bearers, gaining blessings, martial techniques, and quests in exchange for glory, battle achievements, and “stories worth watching.” Some warriors who reached transcendence can regress back to Level 2, retaining experience, knowledge of the future, and fragments of their constellation contracts. Magic is mid–high, heavily tied to martial arts infused with celestial authority.

Geography & Nations

The world is divided into: Gate Cities – fortified metropolises built around major portals, each ruled by clans and martial sects sponsored by different constellations. Twilight Zones – regions where the sky is warped by Stellight, showing signs of active constellations. Star Shrines – places where chosen mortals sign constellation contracts or receive stellar revelations. Celestial Warfields – territories where constellations fight proxy battles through their champions. Nations compete not only for Gates, but for the favor of the strongest constellations.

Races & Cultures

Mainly humans, but influenced by the heavens: Awakened Humans – possess martial classes and stellar blessings. Star-Chosen – mortals directly reflecting a constellation’s aspect (ex: “Lion’s Fist Disciple”). Constellation Avatars – partial incarnations of celestial beings. Firmament Beasts – monsters mutated by constellation light. Cultures revolve around martial arts and celestial patronage. Many martial schools follow specific Constellation Patrons.

Current Conflicts

The world is entering the War of Signs, a cosmic competition among constellations for dominance over Terra’s sky. Key conflicts: Martial constellations vs. chaotic, destructive constellations. Entire regions fighting proxy wars for their patron stars. Regressors trying to change the outcome of the War of Signs using future knowledge. A mysterious organization — The Circle of the Empty Sky — seeks to extinguish all constellations and free Terra from their influence.

Magic & Religion

Power comes from two intertwined systems: 1. Gate System Levels, stats, martial skills Dungeon bosses and rewards Physical progression, aura martial arts 2. Constellation Blessings Stellar Authorities (unique martial powers) Missions and quests issued by constellations Fame-based power scaling Switching sponsors (risking curses or “Severed Star Punishment”) Traditional religion has been replaced by the Star Cults, each devoted to a patron constellation like the Northern Dragon, the Celestial Spear, the Lion God of War, etc.

Planar Influences

Beyond the Gates lie: Upper Firmament – home of the constellations, a living sky filled with thrones of starlight. Arena of Falling Stars – a plane where constellations test champions in celestial trials. Starless Abyss – realm of forgotten or defeated constellations, birthplace of corruption. Planar interference manifests as avatar descents, meteor relic drops, and “Stellar Eclipses” that shift power balance.

Historical Ages

Era of Normalcy – the world before Gates and constellations. Era of Portals – awakening of the first Gates. Era of the Living Sky – constellations reveal themselves, beginning the age of contracts. Era of Champions – mortals rising to starlike powers. Era of Second Ascent (current) – regressors at Level 2 attempt to change destiny. Ruins of old martial temples and collapsed star shrines hide lost techniques and fragments of fallen constellations.

Economy & Trade

Primary currencies: Mana Credits – core currency earned from Gates. Stardust – crystallized constellation energy used for upgrading martial skills or forging relics. Star Seals – physical contracts enabling sponsor changes or unlocking advanced celestial arts. Trade focuses on: Martial manuals & Stellar Manuals Celestial weapons & armor Relics from fallen constellations Rare star essences harvested during Eclipses

Law & Society

Society is heavily divided: Star Orders – knightly or martial sects sworn to specific constellations. Awakened Guilds – practical organizations managing Gates and contracts. Regressors – feared, worshipped, or controlled by governments. Human law often clashes with Firmament Law, as constellations do not acknowledge borders — only results. Adventurers are called Star Champions, and their deeds are literally written in the sky as glowing constellations.

Monsters & Villains

Main threats: Stellar Beasts – monsters embodying constellation aspects (ex: Dragon-Tail Lupine). Gate-Corrupted Bosses – hybrids of dimensional energy and stellar force. Fallen Champions – warriors who betrayed or disappointed their patron stars. Prophets of the Empty Sky – fanatics who seek the extinction of celestial beings. The central villain is the Constellation of the Empty Throne, an ancient star-entity seeking to steal the Authorities of all other constellations using regressors and cosmic warfare.
