In the war‑scarred Forgotten Lands, the once‑mighty kingdom of Durlin stands as a fortified bastion, its citizens clinging to survival while rare magic users wield fearsome power to dominate the fractured realm. Amidst the Black Forest’s elven guardians, the desert Wastes, and the Serpent River’s relentless flow, humans, elves, and dwarves clash over dwindling resources, faith, and the fragile hope that the land’s forgotten gifts might yet heal its shattered soul.

World Overview

It’s a war torn land, with the people doing whatever they can to survive. Magic is rare, but those that possess the ability are highly feared as they often abuse their power to get what they want. Once a powerful country now fragments of what it once was, technology is basic due to the damage the war has caused.

Geography & Nations

There is one kingdom, Durlin. It’s is considered the finest of cities though many outside the city dislike it due to their own struggling being ignored. Villages scattered about are Ravendale, Springvale, Ditor, Cantin, and Zerra. There is a large river that cuts through the National called The Serpent River, a large mountain range to the north named Eagles Watch. To the south there is a barren desert called the Wastes. To the east is a large forest known as The Black Forest

Races & Cultures

The primary races found are elves, humans, and dwarves. Other races are seen but are uncommon. Elves typically reside in the Black Forest, and protect it from anyone who dared enter. Humans destroyed most of their land when they first settled here, so the elves are not fond of humans, and their relationship is tense at best. Humans reside in the city and villages, and get along with the dwarves that inhabit the mountain.

Current Conflicts

The humans have been trying to push the elves out of the Black Forest, with no success, but conflicts continue. The Capital, Durlin, has earned the ire of the villages around as they do not help them improve their quality of living. Keeping to themselves behind large walls instead of helping those in need.

Magic & Religion

Magic is rare, often seen as a forgotten gift. It is passed down genetically with some having a stronger affinity for it than others. Magic is used naturally, as mana is everywhere. It ebbs and flows, and those who can use magic simply channel it from the world around them. There are few deities that influence the world, the humans believing in Mori. Mori is their one true God, and devout followers look down on anyone who doesn’t follow their beliefs. The Elves believe in their own gods, Elluna for the hunt, Quill for protection, Sorra for fertility and family, and Nevar for growth and prosperity.
