A century after an ancient biomass entity awoke to consume the world, six races huddle in mixed settlements protected by steam-driven beacons, finding warmth and community in shared defiance. But the safeguards are failing, and the entity's true purpose—to smother a waking planetary heart—threatens to crack the world open.

World Overview

High magic, the technology feels unnatural to the fantasy feel and state of the world of bio-punk technology and steampunk technology that can be boosted, enhanced, or powered by the Arcane.

Races & Cultures

Humans, Dragonborn, Oozekin, Bugbears, Dwarves, Elves

Magic & Religion

Magic naturally breathes through the world and is common through nature, you must be either well studied in a wizard way to cast or be born with the gift to use. Arcane Runes are the physical written symbol version, it can cast in various way repeating, triggered, cast once, etc. THE GODS 18 gods stand against the Aethiear. They abide by a strict no-combat ban — disputes end in politics, never war. The Ancients (7): Predate language. Nameless by convention — naming them is an act of presumption no mortal dares commit. Fought hand-to-hand before the ban. Most respected of all divine beings. Each may choose 1 to 5 mortal champions total, weighted by personality: stubbornness, heart, and kindness toward those who can offer nothing in return. They do not seek champions — they recognise them. First named Ancient: Ohnduhr, The Deep. The Evil Gods (3): Exist for cosmic balance, not cruelty. They grieve every act their nature demands. Stand against the Aethiear because even evil has something to lose when a singular intelligence remakes the world in its own image. The Neutral Gods (5): Watchful. Detached. Something between observation and deep grief. The Good Gods (3): Actively benevolent. Most likely to intervene, comfort, and guide. Divine Contact Progression: Gods do not announce themselves. Contact deepens as the champion earns it through character, not level or achievement. Dreams → Nudges → Knowing → Growing Connection
