Current Conflicts

An alliance called The Silver Accord includes the kingdoms of Eldoria, Valencrest Dominion, and the Silvermarch Crownlands. It was formed to protect trade and aide in magical research, Silvermarch believes Eldoria is withholding arcane discoveries. Valencrest suspects Eldoria is planning to recruit their best battlemages. Another alliance called the Ivory Compact includes the kingdoms of the Aurelis Sovereignty, and the Kingdom of Thalrune, its purpouse is that of a defense pact against Drakenfalls anti pure human policy. Aurelis fears Thalrune is preparing for conquest—not defense. There are two kingdoms that are neutral and independent, those being the Verdelion Empire and the High Kingdom of Caelanthor, they’re powerful enough to stay out of things, but they’re quietly manipulating both alliances. Political Tensions: A border dispute on a mineral-rich border between Eldoria and the Verdelion Empire has been going on for twenty years. Thalrune is secretly building a massive knight order called, “The Argent Host” for military conquest with Aurelis fearing eventual betrayal, Eldoria worrying that they will eventually invade Valencrest, and Verdelion is selling “agricultural shipments” that are actually weapons. Dragon Led Isolation: Drakensfall, ruled by a council of dragon-blooded nobles, recently sealed their borders after a “divine omen.” There are rumors that a new dragon matriarch has risen, and that They discovered something in the mountains… and don’t want anyone else finding it. Caelenthors Hidden Agenda: Officially peaceful, Caelanthor’s scholars are secretly manipulating politics using prophecy and illusion magic. Aurelis accuses Caelanthor of magically influencing their noble courts, and Caelanthor denies involvement—but something is happening. Mysterious Threats: The Monsters invading through the portal to Hell, The Blackseed Plague, and the Return of the Cinder King, a great old king who is long thought to be dead, now resurfaces with rumors of rebuilding his army in the volcanic lands near Drakenfall. Recent Events: A Valencrest Princess has gone missing, a Silvermarch Diplomat was found petrified, and a Magical Comet has reappeared

Magic & Religion

Magic works when a magic user says a chant, and moving their mana to their hands, a magic circle then forms, and once they finish, it fires. Anybody can use magic with the right practice but certain people have an affinity for one or another type of magic. No deities influence this world.

Planar Influences

The portal to hell leaks monsters into the main world, but other than that there are no other planes that interact with Perinanth.

Historical Ages

The Dawnforge Era (8,000-5,000 years before the present): The world is being shaped by primordial titans. The Age of Glass Empires (5,000-3,000 years ago): Crystal cities, ancient magic is at its peak. Eventually collapses due to overuse of magic. The Shattered Crown Millennium (3,000-1,500 years ago): After the Glass Age, kingdoms fragment into tribes, with many newly formed kingdoms not lasting long. The Era of the First Realms (1,500-800 years ago): The kingdoms start to stabilize and it starts to look like modern day Perinanth. The Cometfall Age (800-350 years ago): A celestial being resets the world, with only the strongest kingdoms surviving. The Age of Ash and Rebirth (350 years ago to present): Modern kingdoms flourish.

Economy & Trade

All of the kingdoms use different currencies, but they all make it easier for adventurers and people on the road by simplifying them into four categories, copper, sliver, gold, and platinum. 100 copper = 10 silver = 1 gold, and 10 gold = 1 platinum. Many trade routes connect between kingdoms, keeping them alive.

Law & Society

Justice is administered depending on the king/government, but most rule on this view: 1st degree = fine (stealing, not paying taxes) 2nd degree = imprisonment (assault, peeping on women, disturbing the peace) 3rd degree = death (Sexual Assault, Assault, Murder) The Four Heroes are exempted by this rule due to their status. Societies view adventurers as an okay bunch, but value the four heroes much more.
