Within the hollowed heart of an asteroid lies the Kharon Spindle, a sprawling underground citadel where humanity clings to survival amid plague‑ridden creatures wielding raw, psychic terror and alien tech. As brave Null Engineers and hardened soldiers descend through the perilous Wall, Dark Rooms, and Trench, they confront escalating horrors—mind‑shattering lightning, insidious infection, and sentient monstrosities—while racing to uncover the truth that may save or doom the last bastion of civilization.

World Overview

"Magic" comes from the abilities of several different plague-ridden creatures that reside in the deeper parts of the facility. Some of these include psychic abilities like mind-control, conducting lightning in areas of the facility that still have power, or even infecting other creatures, or worse, humans themselves. Some rare humans are even able to wield similar abilities, called Null Engineers. Technology is a set of modern meets sci-fi, with modern weapons like rifles and sci-fi weapons like gauss rifles. basic "survival" weapons exist too, like fireaxes, baseball bats, batons, knives and so on. The Kharon Spindle features alot of modern day computing technology and also experimental technology, maybe even alien technology can be found, should you venture down far enough. The Kharon Spindle is a massive facility, and is the entire world of this story itself. There is no outside world, only the various zones in the facility and the depth of levels themselves.

Geography & Nations

The Kharon Spindle is a single massive facility built into the depths of an asteroid. There are different "zones" that represent danger levels and how deep you are in the facility. A few are: The Sky: The "receptionist" zone at the surface of The Kharon Spindle. This was where humans would arrive via spaceships to come to work in the facility. Lots of office areas and human amenities like bedrooms, cafeterias and food supplies. Most of this zone has already been looted and there is hardly any danger, aside from some bandits taking refuge in a few parts. The Annex: The zone right below The Sky zone features scientific areas where scientists would work on various experiments that Earth would ship out. Lots of researching equipment and labs are present. This zone is also almost harmless aside from a few bandits. The Vault: the "survivors" zone and a sanctuary for the humans that are still alive inside The Kharon Spindle. The Vault features "towns" built from materials of The Annex and The Sky zones above, and most people live here. Lots of military personnel and scientists are present in this zone alongside normal survivors of the outbreak, so that they can make sure nobody comes back from deeper zones infected and to keep the peace. No danger is in this zone, although some people can hear the gunfire and screams from the zones below. The Wall: A heavily militarized zone whose actual name was lost. Nicknamed "The Wall" as it is the zone between what's left of humanity on The Kharon Spindle and what lurks below. Military personnel on this zone hold checkpoints from creatures of the outbreak so that they can't escape. This zone is the first major zone that is dangerous, as creatures attack checkpoints and bandits try to take control of their own parts of The Wall as their bases. The Dark Rooms: A strand of 3 zones that's names are lost, are now called The Dark Rooms. These are the first zones past The Wall. People and squads are sent down to these zones to map them and collect supplies for The Vault, often with little supplies to even defend themselves from the horrors of the facility. These zones feature some of the lesser class 1 creatures within the facility. Occasionally, a class 2 or 3 creature may surface, which requires a "liquidator" squad to go and eliminate it. The Dark Rooms also hold many secrets, like research notes about what happened below. The Trench: This is the name of the zones below The Dark Rooms. These zones are almost completely unexplored, as they are very dangerous, and the few people who were sent to explore these zones didn't come back. Class 4 and Class 5 creatures reside in this zone alongside their lesser brethren. People who have claimed to come back from The Trench said they heard whispers from below. The Grave: This is a secondary zone that resides in The Trench and is the furthest zone anyone has ever gotten to. A squad named "Thanatos-9" made it down here in hopes of finding answers to stop the outbreak but never returned. It is unknown what creature killed them. All zones below The Grave have never been explored. Who knows what monstrosities and horrors wait down there, but answers are needed.

Races & Cultures

All DnD-esque races are present, like elves, dwarves, and just humans. Several factions are present, each with a specific job to continue the lives of humanity in the facility.

Current Conflicts

A almost alien-like outbreak has broken out in the the deeper unknown parts of The Kharon Spindle, and has been a threat to the last strands of humanity left on facility. Communication was cut off from Earth, so evactuation couldnt be conducted. This outbreak has gone on for years.

Magic & Religion

Higher class creatures of the outbreak possess "magical" abilities, like breathing fire, conducting lightning, Mind-control, or even infecting humanoids. Some people of humanity who were blessed with the abilities of magic, called Null Engineers, also can cast similar abilities as the creatures.

Planar Influences

It is unknown if any planar influences exist in The Kharon Spindle.

Historical Ages

The Great Purge is the name of the very beginning of the outbreak, when creatures ran rampant throughout the facility, almost overtaking it completely. Survivors of The Great Purge are often leaders in their sectors of The Vault and The Wall, or even sent to the deeper parts of The Kharon Spindle to hopefully find more supplies and answers.

Economy & Trade

People trade "rations" for items they need. Areas within The Vault and The Wall are set up for trading.

Law & Society

Military and Scientific personnel patrol The Vault and The Wall zones, killing off creatures and checking people to see if they are infected with the outbreak.

Monsters & Villains

Creatures of the outbreak are broken into 6 classes on The Kharon Spindle Class 1: basic creatures that mindlessly attack anybody of humanity on The Kharon Spindle. Not really a threat at all Class 2: Almost the same as a Class 1 but can take a bigger beating. may be able to wield basic equipment, but are still mindless. Class 3: This class features creatures that usually possess a simple, yet dangerous ability. Sometimes seen leading lesser classes. This class requires more attention when dealing with. Class 4: A significant threat, these creatures are very hard to kill, usually requiring a squad to deal with. Possess abilities that are dangerous, and require lots of attention to avoid. Class 5: Very dangerous creatures that arent for the feint of heart. These creatures possess sentience, and can command lesser classes around like a leader, being able to wipe out squads of soldiers if left unchecked. Make sure you are well equipped to deal with these. Class 6: Creatures that possess superior cognitive thinking and deadly unique abilities. It is suspected that the creature that killed Squad Thanatos-9 in The Grave is a Class 6. Dangerous even to dozens of well equipped humans, it's best to avoid these creatures should you come in contact with them when going deeper. Should you find yourself with nowhere to run, you will excellent combative and abilities to kill or outsmart them. These 6 classes of creatures from the outbreak are the primary threat of The Kharon Spindle. Aside from them, bandits on the upper zones are also existent.
