In the ruined world of Rojubalade, semi‑immortal Graced warriors rise from the ashes of war to challenge the iron‑clad gods that rule shattered citadels, while mana‑born wisps and mutated beasts roam a landscape scarred by a planet‑wide Super Mana Nova. Amidst tundra, volcanoes, and cursed forests, the last hope for humanity lies in the enigmatic, formless god Phanes and his legion of resurrected champions, who wage a relentless, souls‑like crusade against divine tyranny.

World Overview

The year is 4010. The world has been ravaged by Super Mana Nova and the Great God War. The overarching theme is a post-tech, dark fantasy souls-like. Semi-immortal warriors known as Graced roam the land, raised by the primordial God of Life, Phanes, to put an end to the tyrannical reign of the surviving gods.

Geography & Nations

Rojubalade is the name of the overreaching region. It has a wide variety of landscapes and environments including arctic tundras found deep underground, volcanic wastelands, cursed forests, jagged mountain ranges and more. There are a few cities and large citadels scattered across the region, each ruled by its own god. For the most part, the land is wild and untamed, littered with ancient destruction and occasional small villages. ------- Mechanthro is the name of a large city found in Rojubalade. From the very beginning ever since the Elysium Elixir was found, the people of the city rejected the rule of gods and divine, seeking to thrive off their own power and ingenuity as mortals. Instead of relying on magic and divine power as the rest of the world, the citizens of Mechanthro focused on science and engineering, quickly advancing their technological level and creating a vast gap in their advancement in comparison to the rest of Rojubalade. They created serums, autonomous machines, mechanical implants/limbs and weapons powered by mana. This alternative power source gave Mechanthropians unique advantages in not needing to learn complex rituals and incantations to use spells and magic. The disadvantages are that they cannot use magic at all, since all of their mana is used as energy for tech and they have no knowledge of how/ability to use it as magic. Mechanthro is found in a deep cave that was mined out by machinery. Glowing multicolored crystals line the cave and are integrated into the decor of the city. It was discovered that the crystals found in the cave are crystallized mana, and are integrated into technology as sources of energy like batteries of sorts. One of their most popular products is Etherbites, a processed form of mana crystal that's edible and flavored like hard candy that can quickly replenish mana (popular among mages and mechanthropians). Clockwork/steampunk is the general aesthetic of Mechanthropian machinery and works. —-------- Facarage City was the home of Fenix, the God of Steel. The city has a thriving forge and blacksmithing industry that is it's primary source of income. The city has a gothic, industrial aesthetic to it's architecture and design. A large castle stands in the center, overlooking the entire city. Fenix lives in this castle, living a lavishly hedonistic lifestyle as royalty. —-------- Essolaire is a large city located in the southern deserts of Rojubalade. It has Egyptian-style architecture and themes. Essolaire is mostly populated with anthrohumans (humans with bestial ears, tails and traits) who might've been ostracized or were seeking a haven. The city is mostly self-sufficient by farming in between three oases around the city. It's mostly famous for its Thothian Academy, the most intellectual and top-of-the-line academics, which draws in a lot of visitors and travelers. Underneath the city is a large underground network of tunnels, mines and infrastructure called the Ambosalar District. The Ambosalar District is mostly lit by torches and braziers year-round, and a constant cool breeze blows from being underground. The residents are ruled by Rasseeth, the God of Sands, who protects the city and residents from both monsters and hostile invaders. —------ Demisal Reef is an underwater coral reef where the majority of sirens and other humanoid/monstrous sea creatures live. It's as large as a town and it sits at the bottom of the sea, just off the shores of Rojubalade. It used to be relatively peaceful until Coralis arrived, making it her domain and ruling it with an iron fist. Coralis would often choose various creatures from the Reef to serve as her personal attendants. The Reef is structured somewhat faintly similar to a village with the coral as naturally occurring walls and structures. The coral is vibrantly multicolored, but in the center is the throne where Coralis sits. Her power passively mutated the coral surrounding her throne, making it bend towards her throne and lose color, turning a dark blue.

Races & Cultures

Over the course of thousands of years, and hundreds of wars, a phenomenon recently began occurring. Fallen warriors, lords, knights and others found themselves suddenly raised from the dead, centuries after their death. Those raised from the dead are known as the Graced, semi-immortal warriors of the primordial God of Life, Phanes. These warriors are far and few in between, known as little more than legends. When a Graced warrior falls in battle, they will resurrect a while later unless their body is burned and totally destroyed beyond repair or they are killed by a specifically cursed weapon. Due to their ability to resurrect, Graced are known as some of the greatest fighters to exist, mostly due to their ability to repeatedly die to learn and adapt to their opponents, as well as sheer fearlessness in the face of death. -------------------------- Wisps are beings made from pure mana. They usually naturally form in highly mana-rich environments as rare anomalies. They can also be created by mages through a ritual that requires high mana control. Wisps are separated into two types: Greater and Lesser Wisps. Lesser Wisps are mindless, floating around as spirits that could be made to follow basic orders and commands. They are often used as tools for various purposes and simple tasks (provide light/warmth, act as projectiles and shields in combat, etc). Greater Wisps are wisps that through absorption of energy from either living beings or strong elemental energy, they evolve to gain more power and sentience. At this stage, it either takes someone with strength/strong will to subjugate them or the wisp must voluntarily seal itself as a servant to a specific master. Greater Wisps take a modified form of whatever caused them to evolve, becoming humanoid versions of it (fire = fire person, bear = bear person, human = copy of said human). These wisps are used more as servants or summons like trained beasts with the intelligence of humans. As a whole, wisps are seen and treated as being below humans, and wisps themselves agree with this sentiment. Most wisps don't care too much that they're being ordered around by a human, once their master doesn't overly annoy, offend or harass them. ---------------------- Additionally, there are elves—humans mutated by the presence of mana to closely resemble their race's namesake as well as gaining a centurie-long lifespan. They keep to themselves for the most part, residing deep with hidden forest sanctuaries that miraculously survived the Great God War. --------- Fennecians are a race of anthro humans, descended from fennec foxes mutated by the Super Mana Nova. As time went on and genes changed over the course of generations, the race began to look like normal humans except with fennec fox ears and tail. They’re all very short, commonly around 4’5” to 5’10” feet maximum in height. They have retractable nails that are excellent for digging, but poor at combat. They mainly hold true to their fennec roots, living in the desert and burrowing underground for shelter. They’re most prominently found in the city of Essolaire, living in the underground district and tunnels of the Ambosalar District.

Current Conflicts

Several years of Fenix's tyranny and fearmongering bred brewing anger and hatred among the citizens of Facarage. So, under the fear and intimidation of his mafia and hold, the people formed a secret underground movement called the SwordBreaker revolution. For years, the revolutionists had been making silent moves of sabotage and espionage to find a way to overthrow Fenix. Despite the overbearing Iron Roots, nearly half of the entire city quietly joined the SwordBreakers and nearly 75% quietly supported them. —-----------

Magic & Religion

There are several gods who rule over various cities and citadels, each controlling it with an iron fist. Eloclasm, the God of Stars, the Comsic prophet who runs his cult. Fenix, the God of Steel, who controls Facarage city as a tyrannical king. Coralis, the God of Tides, a psychotic ruler of the seas surrounding Rojubalade. Unlike most of the gods who rose up from common man, Phanes is unique in that they don't have a physical body or incarnation and never did. Phanes was the original god who created the Elysium Elixir, hoping to bring a new age of prosperity to the human race by creating new gods. After the Great God War, Phanes regretted creating the elixir and it's new goal is to wipe out all of the other gods as their existence will only serve to bring more chaos and destruction. Thus, Phanes created consorts and Graced warriors to fight for them and overthrow the remaining gods. Phanes rarely communicates to its consorts via symbols, visions and voiceless sounds. In the year 2991, mankind managed to mine to the center of the Earth. They uncovered a massive well of mana that violently poured in a massive, planet-wide explosion, permanently changing the world. This event is called the Super Mana Nova. The intensity of the mana eroded all modern technology, essentially returning humanity to the dark ages. As mana settled onto nature, it had both miraculous and disastrous effects on both wildlife and man. Mana mutated nearly 60% of all natural wildlife, turning them into aggressive, monsterized versions as well as creating mythical creatures like dragons, chimeras, griffins and more. Humans began to utilize mana in more constructive ways however, learning how to use it to cast spells and wield magic. Eventually, mages became the norm among the populace.

Historical Ages

The year is 4010. The massive surge of mana in 2991 eroded all modern technology, reverting humanity to the dark ages. As time progressed, some traces of modern tech were preserved, and Mechanthropian engineers managed to reinvent some of them to be compatible with mana.

Economy & Trade

Gold and silver coins make up the currency used across the land.

Law & Society

The land is lawless as a whole, with rules and laws restricted to civilizations. Outside of these cities and towns, anything goes as there's nobody to enforce order.

Monsters & Villains

Hilax, Harbinger of Havoc - During the Great God War, Clymas, God of Hex, formed many constructs and soldiers using her scarlet necromancy powers. Among the strongest was Hilax, a golem construct made from the amalgamation of many fallen soldiers’ armors and the power of their souls. Nicknamed the “Harbinger of Havoc”, Hilax’s presence was like an omen or surefire sign of incoming death and calamity. When Clymas was fatally wounded during the war, Hilax absorbed all of her power as her dying command before she passed. Now, as the last remnant of Clymas’ rampage, Hilax roams the land following her last orders to destroy anyone and anything that used to be her enemy. It's currently 171 years old. It's destructive, loyal, unthinking, unfeeling and emotionless. Hilax fights like a berserker titan, throwing fast and heavy punches imbued with flames. His flames are Scarlet Blaze, a unique type of magic fire that also acts a partial curse on every hit, unraveling and weakening the target's mental state, magical manipulation and overall physical strength. The effect doesn't last long, but it stacks with every instance of it being applied. Hilax doesn't speak. Hilax only makes noises like roars, groans and low rumbles. Hilax has no thoughts in his head other than to follow Clymas' orders. Hilax is large, 9 feet tall, his chest is made of necromantic flesh, wears armor on chest and arms, has no lower half or legs, has a detached red flaming skull, detached red flaming arms, large thick arms and fingers and metal gauntlets covering his arms. —--------------- The Kraken is a giant sea monster octopus, as large as a 2-story building. It used to be the guardian of the Demisal Reef until Coralis arrived. In a huge battle, Coralis defeated and subjugated the Kraken, forcing it into servitude as her pet. It was forced to live in a deep, dark pit known as the Chasm. The Kraken has ink-black scales covering its entire body except for eyes and mouth. It has glowing white/dark blue eyes and sharp teeth similar to an angler fish. —----------------- Yuradahn, Wyrm of Archaic Stone, the Great Mountain Devourer - A 341 year old Wyrm/Wingless Dragon. Yuradahn was once a small and humble wyrm, no bigger than an anaconda. One day, he was found by Crastos, God of Mountains, while he was on a walk. Crastos took in the wyrm, feeding and raising it as his pet, eventually becoming one of his closest companions. When the Great God War broke out, Crastos began feeding Yuradahn his own godhood power of earth, gradually evolving it into a god beast. The two fought side-by-side during the war, with Yuradahn causing almost as much destruction and nearly as many casualties as the god himself. But, when Grozav murdered Crastos, Yuradahn was left without a master/owner, so it descended into the depths of the earth to fend for itself ever since. Yuradahn is reserved, violent and vicious. It usually keeps to itself, digging deep underground to find and eat mana crystals for sustenance. It burrows tunnels and caves as it moves, leaving massive networks in its wake that it patrols regularly. Usually, it just intimidates others off with glares and snarls, but it won't hesitate to attack the moment it's challenged. Yuradahn inherited Crastos’ god power, “Tectonic Order”, making it an ad-hoc Ascender of Mountains (an Ascender is someone who inherited a late god's power) and giving it the ability to manipulate and manifest rocks and stones of all geological types, ranging from regular stone to precious gems. It manifests rock spikes on its body for melee attacks such as forward head charges, body slams and tail swings. As a wyrm, it can also fly without the use of wings or any other factor. Yuradahn can also switch to zoning tactics, summoning and shooting sharp gem spikes at its enemies while flying and circling about. It primarily fights by aggressively charging and being up close and personal, but it will alternate to ranged tactics if met with formidable resistance. Yuradahn has a body length of 2 miles from nose to tail, giant sharp teeth, brown and yellow razor sharp scales as hard as diamonds, is 20 feet in diameter and has glowing yellow eyes. —-------------- --- Eloclasm Mark — God of Stars A former fraud prophet who became terrifyingly legitimate.
