World Overview

The long night is set in a low fantasy Dieselpunk world. Technology has developed to a 1940s but advanced tech like mechs and airships are common.

Geography & Nations

The world is split between two main continents the old world and Terra Incognita Terra Incognita is home to the United States of Terra Incognita a newly founded but rapidly developing world power. To the south are a collection of semi independent colonial holdings and newly formed nations. While the USTI holds the norther half of the continent. To the east is the old world Eris in the west and Selen in the far east. The west is dominated by Four major powers Londinian Galia Remia and the Ursan Union. Londinian is the British inspired faction and the founder of the Coalition the Londinian royal family is Human but the currently elected prime minister is a dwarf. The south is human majority bit the northern half kf the isials ar dwarven majority Galia is inspired by the French aesthetically but are closer to a traditional fantasy kingdom in practice with and intact monarch they also are a member of the Coalition Galia is majority Heartland elves The Remian Empire is the first member of the Tribune they are a high elf majority nation led by a Kaiser they are Greman inspired but they also keep a strong connection to nightly and chivalrous imagery their Machin-Ritters noble born mech pilots keep to a code of honor that only seems to apply when they're winning And finally the Urasn Union the USSR Analog theybare orc majority but also have large populations of Goliaths humans and goblinoids.

All typical dnd fantasy races are present but in firmly biological form elves for example are Still long lived but only live about 500 years dwarves are the same only living about 250 years. Heartland Elves are the only new race the Heartland Elves were created by generations of humans and Elves intermixing the retain many eleven features but are shorter lived only living to about 150

Current Conflicts

The long night is a world War that has been going on for the last 60 years. The old world is a wasteland of mud and trenches cities have been bombed rebuilt and bombed agin until all that is left is splinters. The last strongholds of civilization are the Great Bunker cities. Fortified subterranean complexes built beneath the original cities. Each bunker city is held by either the Coalition or the Tribune and separated from the others by miles of no-mans land.

Magic & Religion

Magic is rare it not only takes years of dedication to learn and use but also requires a natural attitude for it. Technology has rapidly progressed in the last centuries to compete with and eventually replace it. The main religion od this world is the Chirch of the Devines wich worship the Creator a more abrahamic stay all powerful creator God and a Pantheon of lesser gods known as the wanders who are bellow him these are your more polytheistic Greek or Roman gods
