In the shattered world of The Realm, a towering fortress crowns a fractured monarchy that wields ancient tech and brutal strength, while scattered islands harbor mutant factions and clandestine mages who wield vibrational magic—only the most powerful can bend reality itself. Amid looming wars, a secretive mage among humans plots to topple the tyrannical crown, as bloodthirsty mutants and engineered engineers vie for survival and dominance in a landscape where the balance of power teeters on the edge of catastrophe.

World Overview

Post apocalyptic civilization with a global monarchy. Remnants of advanced technology and knowledge of the past. Radioactivity has mutated humans to create factions that somewhat coexist aside from occasional faction conflicts. Mutations include superhuman abilities and vibrationally based magic. It’s 200 years after the apocalypse so the world is starting to come to some normalcy despite the changes.

Geography & Nations

“The fortress” is the main city that houses the monarchy. As the name suggests it’s close to impenetrable and its inhabitants are distinctly separated by class. The biome is very mountainy and separated by islands. There are small villages and nomadic settlements throughout the world. All the islands are centralized and not too far away

Races & Cultures

For the humans there are an abundance of different races. The mutants come in different forms and are spread across the world. There are factions that possess different superhuman powers that aren’t overpowered and balanced compared to the other factions and human technology (weapons). There is a mage faction that have magical abilities. This faction is somewhat hidden and the people have mostly only heard rumors or rare eye witnesses. They are a peaceful faction that live in seclusion away from each other that way the monarchy can’t have the chance of decimating their population in one place. Mages are the only overpowered race. The monarchy consists of a semi invulnerable race with increased strength and battle skills. Regular humans have created a sub faction of highly intelligent engineers that have taken advantage of their skills with technology. Humans have a strained relationship with the monarchy that exploits them. The mutants have civil disputes that sometimes break out in small violent conflicts.

Current Conflicts

Monarchy vs everybody basically. Monarchy has more interest in taking the mage faction down if they can find them. Humans are plotting a war against the monarchy once their technology develops. There is a mutant faction that’s bloodthirsty and has their sights on attacking “the fortress”. There is a mage that lives secretly among the humans trying to help with their effort against the monarchy. There are mutant animals that are dangerous if you venture outside “the fortress”.

Magic & Religion

Magic is vibrational and energy based. Super humans have strength, speed, and partial invulnerability. Mutants are born into their forms and have better attributes than others. Those who possess the power are born without the powers and grow into them. Some are trained into their powers with knowledge of them. Some are born with no knowledge of powers and find out when they get older. There is a force-like deity that governs the balance in the world. Right now, the monarchy holds too much power and need to balance out.
