World Overview

Magic in this world is completely gone besides Magic cards that can contain skills, classes, Spells, unique abilities and buffs, body modifications, Almost anything that can be thought of can be in a Magic card. These cards populate the world in abundance with 5 different rarities ranging from Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Mythic in order of rarity and power. These cards make up sets of 5 of similar or synergistic cards of the same rarity. People in this world have a space in their heart called the Heart Deck that can house a certain number of these cards in slots, with each card taking up a slot of their own, while cards of the same set take up a single slot, if all 5 cards of the same set are placed in a single heart deck the cards merge and accend to the next Rarity. Dragons in this world are hatched with a card in their Core that is based around the colour of their scales with each major colour possesing a different style of card in their core, they are usually friendly to Humanoid races and form bonds known as a Link with a one person possesing a Magic Card in their Heart Deck that is synergistic with the Dragons own Core Card, when Linked those two cards create a Linked card, without consuming the two original cards, that is a combination of the two cards that both the Person and the Dragon can access and use. The world also has a set of creatures that are known as the scourgelings which can take on the form of most standard animals and monsters, but a more dangerous version of them. These creatures are the opposite of Dragons in the form that Dragons are the essence of life and Magic, whereas Scourglings are the antithesis of Life, whatever they touch begins to Rot and it can't be stopped or slowed, people with cards in their heart are immune to the effects of the Rot. The Scourglings smell out the magic of the cards in peoples Heart Decks and Rip through the chests of people to get to them and eat the cards to then gain the abilities of the card itself, When killed the Scourgling will release any cards they consumed from their chest as well as a number of Card Shards matching the rarity of the creature. When a person lays out 20-30 Card Shards, depending of the rank, in a card shape the shards will merge into a card, the effect of which is random but can be swayed if the person wills the card to be a certain type.
