In the sun‑scarred Shattered Plains, three kingdoms—The Holy City, Chestshire, and Rodum—clash over the rare, hunted magic that fuels their medieval technology, while the once‑glorious Enlightened Ones' legacy fuels a continent-wide paranoia that turns every mage into a target. Amidst xenophobic feuds and brutal executions, the land’s diverse races hide in shadowy enclaves, each whispering of a hidden resistance that could either restore balance or ignite a new, darker age.

World Overview

High narrow magic, few possess the ability to use magic and are hunted for it, medieval times with technology being based on harnessing mages as power sources

Geography & Nations

Three major kingdoms. The Holy City, ruled by Archbishop Dunbar who is a fanatic; The Holy City actively hunts magic users and hoards them for power. The second kingdom is Chestshire. Ruled by a council of nobles, Chestsire projects itself as a kingdom for the people; but the nobles bend the laws to keep themselves in power. The third kingdom is Rodum. It is ruled by King Audeus. Rodum is a kingdom of peace, attempting to maintain peace and order throughout the land. They mean well, but are willing to trample over anyone in an attempt to maintain what they believe is order; no matter how oppressive they have to be.

Races & Cultures

All dungeons and dragons races inhabit this realm. They usually keep to their own races, more often than not they are xenophobic. The Holy City is ruled by humans. Elves are hated for their high affinity towards magic.

Current Conflicts

Any and all magic users are hunted to harness their power. Few mages walk the land free, many magic users are taken as children. There is constant xenophobia across the land. 200 years ago, an army of mages called The Enlightened Ones attempted to take over the lands. The three kingdoms came together to stop them, which is why mages are hunted and either killed or captured. Not all mages were a part of The Enlightened Ones, but now all mages are hunted in order to prevent something like that from occurring ever again. Mages in this world are not inherently good or evil.

Magic & Religion

Magic is powerful and feared. Few can use, and only those who are born with magical abilities can use them; unless they are gained through hellish contracts.

Economy & Trade

Each kingdom uses their own currency. Trade routes are established between the three kingdoms but they are held together by a shaky alliance.

Law & Society

Justice is held by each kingdom based on their views and policies. The Holy City handles all criminals by execution. They burn them on a pyre.

Monsters & Villains

All creatures from dungeons and dragons are in this world.
