In the shattered remnants of the Unbroken World, floating continents drift above a chaotic, infinite magical core, while the Gamewrights’ cosmic touch has turned every creature into a unique, power‑laden being, creating a landscape where lawless adventurers battle for control and hope of restoring order. Amidst this fractured realm, cities stand as hardened sanctuaries, and the unpredictable flow of strange magics rewards the bold and punishes the unprepared, making every journey a perilous gamble for survival and destiny.

World Overview

This world is originally a world with no magic. However, cosmic forces beyond comprehension known as the Gamewrights travel across dimensions looking for universes they can mold into whatever design they see fit. This world was fractured and broken apart, the core replaced with a fluctuating and infinite magical source. The inhabitants of the world were changed, their bodies warped and changed into beasts and monsters, while others remained normal and instead acquired strange powers and skills.

Geography & Nations

The major kingdoms rule over individual floating pieces of what remains of their world. Strange and unique magics constantly flow between the floating continents and wreak havoc on those who travel unprepared. Cities are mostly hardened shelters and travel across the continents is risky and highly rewarding.

Races & Cultures

Races of all sorts inhabit this world, from known fantasy races to strange and uncouth creatures that have no known name or history. The Gamewrights changed every creature on the planet into something new, so whether intelligent or otherwise you could have been warped into something new.

Current Conflicts

The world is still recovering from the catastrophic unmaking of their world. This worlds remains are in a constant state of struggle to maintain order, power, and control over those within the populated and remote areas.

Magic & Religion

Magic is new and has made a gigantic splash in what it means to be a person in this world. Everyone has been given a random power or trait unique only to them. This is similar to the System in He Who Fights with Monsters, or the Nightmare Dream in Shadow Slave. Individuals can scale their power infinitely which means they could eventually fight the Gamewrights to restore their world or redesign it themselves.

Planar Influences

This world since it's shattering has a very thin barrier preventing the other planes from interacting with it. As a result even more creatures and strange phenomena are constantly appearing across the shattered globe.

Historical Ages

The world before its shattering was quite mundane, very few people will remember these times.

Economy & Trade

Currently the world is recovering from the shattering of its shape, those who traded or knew of travel have been tossed into a strange new cataclysm where borders mean nothing as the void floats between their broken continents.

Law & Society

Society has maintained a strict structure in some cities, citing the law as the only thing that remains normal in this land. Across the shattered remains of the globe however, the new magic and powers have made it very lawless and adventurers abound constantly fighting to bring a semblance of peace to this destroyed and anarchic world.
