In the tempest‑tossed Wesrook Isles, three warring kingdoms—The Alterran Accord, The Nocturne Navis, and the forbidden Veshimek Magii—battle over enchanted isles that pulse with wild magic, while a nameless, memory‑stealing entity lurks in black‑sanded beaches, feeding on the very souls of the Isles' denizens. Amid the shifting alliances and relentless skirmishes, the neutral trade city of Crosshaven stands as a fragile beacon of commerce and hope, where merchants and spies alike barter not just goods but secrets, all under the ever‑watchful gaze of a godlike predator that seeks to unravel reality itself.

World Overview

A set of 17 moderately sized magical isles off the coast of Alterra. 3 Kingdoms rule these islands and are at constant war, with brief periods of peace. Enchantment, Alteration, and Destruction magics are the most popular forms of magic in this world, but lesser desired dark illusion and evocation magics are becoming more prevalent in the wars.

Geography & Nations

17 Moderately Sized Islands with various ecosystems and climates ranging from temperate forests, arctic tundra, and farmlands. Crosshaven is a neutral trade city in the heart of the Isles, being in the middle of the most populous island and the only island on which the 3 kingdoms are not allowed to control as part of a peace treaty enacted 20 years ago. The 3 kingdoms are The Alterran Accord, The Nocturne Navis, and Veshimek Magii. These isles include snowcapped mountains, thick forests, odd sandy beaches, and magical auras in the air.

Races & Cultures

A feline beast race known as the 'Vesh' is primarily from the Veshimek Magii. They are located in the westernmost sector of the Isles. Humans are most common in the other two kingdoms, The Alterran Accord and The Nocturne Navis. Many beast and monster races, including orcs, goblins, bears, and other mythical creatures, litter the landscape, though they are not sentient. The Veshimek Magii are primarily a magic-based culture, learning magic from a very young age and focusing heavily on destructive and forbidden taboo magics. The Alterran Accord and The Nocturne Navis are empirical cultures with a heavy military focus, a King of Alterra, and a Queen of Nocturne. The king and queen were married but divorced after an otherworldly entity possessed them.

Current Conflicts

There is a mysterious entity that is prevalent in dreams and steals memories, and odd beaches have begun appearing around the isles with black sand that contains stolen memories of those who get too close.

Magic & Religion

Magic is a learned power that resonates with the frequency of the user's mind as it interacts with the aura of the land.

Planar Influences

There is a mysterious, almost godlike entity that possesses and steals memories and can heavily influence and amplify dark magic.

Historical Ages

The 100 Year War resulted from the ugly divorce of the King and Queen, who split their kingdom in half. The grand arrival refers to the time when the Vesh arrived on the Isles from a far-off continent that was laid to waste by an otherworldly force that they refuse to discuss.

Economy & Trade

Trade happens freely in Crosshaven as it's the only neutral town in the Isles. All factions send traders and operatives here to do business.

Law & Society

Law and Society heavily rely on the kingdom's own alignment. The Alterran Accordise are lawful neutral, while the nocturne navis are lawful evil. The Veshimek Magii are a Chaotic Neutral faction. All of these factions have many deserters who align with chaotic, neutral good, and lawful neutral.

Monsters & Villains

Bandits, Neverdowells, Monsters, and the Mysterious Entities are all creatures that can be encountered in this world. The Mysterious Entity is an ancient, otherworldly being that feeds on Memories and the sanity of the realm. Its purpose is to breed endless chaos and thrust the world into a meticulous, infinite cycle of unimaginable pain, madness, and suffering.
