In the eternal twilight beneath the world, the Underground River Kingdom clings to floating islands that rise and vanish like ghosts across a mystic subterranean lake, their survival powered by forbidden science and the lake’s whispers of impossible power. When the Science Committee’s ironclad pacts with reclusive tunnel-dwarves begin to crack, ancient lake-worshippers and radical technologists race to claim the next vanishing island—and whoever controls it may command the only light left in a sunless realm.

World Overview

Extremely prestigious high technological society that lives underground besides a massive underground spiritual lake. The society derived all of its resources and food from little islands that spawn and dissapear randomly on the foggy grand lake. The lake is an unexplainable occurrence that defies physics and logic. The society has never seen the moon or sun in years or weather or seasons. They guess the year or time based on changes to the lake.

Geography & Nations

The kingdom is a large city built above a lake, all underground. Under the city is an increasingly dense network of tunnels, the further you get down. It's a challenge to reach the lake, but the kingdom has developed technological ways to make this slightly easier.

Races & Cultures

There's the science committee who run the mining ships, and are the architects of the society, that get essential materials from the lake. There's also dwarves, the miners themselves who adapted to their cave like setting over a long time. They don't really like to talk to humans, as long as you dont bother them theyre chill. Theyre peaceful but they have things to do, its their trade route for years and people respect that.

Current Conflicts

Science committee brokered a deal with the dwarves to work together and coexist - working in unison but not they're not on friendly terms.

Magic & Religion

The lake is the only source of what could be considered as supernatural abilities, otherwise its just technological. There is a religion that worships the lake, it was established a long time before all the technological advancements and is now shunned by the science committee.
