At Nevermore Academy, nestled in the Vermont woods, every outcast student—vampire, siren, faceless, or worse—hides a secret that could doom both their hidden world and the unsuspecting normie town of Jericho. When ancient grudges ignite between the school’s supernatural outcasts and the suspicious locals, one misfit freshman must decide whether to protect the fragile peace or unleash the full, terrifying power of Wednesday.

World Overview

Low magic, modern world, outcast society made up of humanoid races of paranormal like beings such as Vampires, werewolves, faceless, sirens, psychics, sparks, pyros, Da Vincis, shifters, hides, vanishers, yeti (rare), gorgons. Outcast society is mostly hidden from normie (normal) society but it is lightly connected to any close small towns where knowledge of it is slightly known.

Geography & Nations

The setting is mostly based around the Outcast boarding School of Nevermore, close to Nevermore is the town of Jericho in Vermont. The major world setting is modern day earth, the story setting I based around Nevermore in the state of Vermont, USA.

Races & Cultures

The races are Psychics, sparks, pyros, vanishers, faceless, sirens, shifters, gorgons, Da Vincis, vampires, hides, and werewolves who are all mostly humanoid. Werewolves live in cities and some live more in the wilderness away from people sometimes in packs and sometimes alone. Sirens can live in cities as entertainers and they also live underwater as mermaid like beings. Vampires live around the world like any vampires do. Gorgons live anywhere in the world but they always wear some form of clothing to keep their heads covered as their hair is made up of snakes just like Medusa. All the other races also live around the world a little more openly as there is usually no outwardly visible features that make them different than normal humans. All the races coexist together relatively well in most places but as all societies there are places where they don’t get along and where they live separated with their own kind.

Current Conflicts

There is mostly conflict between the student and staff of Nevermore with the normie population of Jericho. As the normie population is suspicious of the eerie and sometimes creepy differences between normal people and outcast, which causes them to dislike and sometimes outright hate the outcasts. Outcasts themselves don’t usually have any great love for normie people or normie culture.

Magic & Religion

Psychics use a form of magic in seeing the future and having prophetic abilities. Witchcraft exists for any outcast that wishes to study it and use it for things suck as curses, hexes, rituals and potions. All mostly small magic mother really world changing. It is possible to bring someone back from the dead with great preparation and rituals. Vampires have there supernatural abilities and can be out in the sun, they normally just wear glasses. Werewolves have their normal transformations during the full moon, the rest of the time they have higher strength than most and they can transform small things like their claws, alpha werewolves who are extremely rare can transform at anytime and have even higher strength than other werewolves. Sirens have what’s called a siren song which allows them to control the minds of those they use it on, there is special materials and magic that may allow one to contain their own power or protect themselves from the siren song of others, sirens also are like mermaids in the sense that when they are in water they can transform into a mermaid like being who can live and breath under water. Faceless people are outcasts that are like humans in every way except that they do not have a face, it is just blank head shaped skull and skin. Vanishers are like humans in every way except they possess the ability to turn invisible. Sparks and Pyros are like humans just with the capability to control either electricity or fire. Hides are outcasts who like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde have a normal human side and an alternate monsterous half which they transform into and become much larger than there human half and kinda grotesque, they also become much stronger around as strong to stronger than werewolves when transformed. Da Vincis look just like humans but may have a range of abilities mostly related to the arts some can use telekinesis others can paint the future, some can bring their paintings to life. There are some outcasts who have the ability to control certain types of animals or bugs such as birds and bees, some have the ability to control plants. Shifters usually look human but have the ability to change there shape and what they look like so they could look like anybody they want. Over all magic and supernatural powers are diverse and varied but never usually overly powerful so while they can cause great harm and have great ability it would be exceedingly difficult for one outcast to take over the world. There isn’t really any religious belief in outcast society except the belief of an afterlife, no heaven or hell just an afterlife.
