In a world where blue Gates slam open between Earth and monster‑laden dimensions, humanity’s survival hinges on Hunters—humans who awaken with raw mana and are ranked from E to S—who must clear dungeons before the dreaded Dungeon Break floods the world. Yet beyond ordinary threats lurk legendary Monarchs and a shadowy Architect who manipulates the System itself, turning every Gate into a deadly test of power, faith, and destiny.

World Overview

The world features Gates connecting Earth to monster-filled dimensions, leading to Dungeons that hunters must clear to protect humanity and earn rewards like Essence Stones. A select few humans, called Hunters, awaken supernatural powers and are ranked E to S by strength. in this world Sung Jin-woo was never born, there is no shadow monarch.

Geography & Nations

the earth as it is.

Races & Cultures

Humans are the most common on earth, but in Gates the races can be any mythical creature depending on the gate difficulty itself, Orcs, Giants, Goblins, Elves, Ice Elves, goblins, Minotuars, ect.

Current Conflicts

Major Threats: Gates & Monsters: Gates remain a constant danger, unleashing powerful creatures from other dimensions that normal weapons can't harm, forcing humanity to rely on Hunters. The Monarchs: These incredibly powerful beings from another world (like the Beast and Frost Monarchs) represent a direct, existential threat, far surpassing typical Gate bosses, but are shrouded as mere legends. Kandiaru (The Architect): The mysterious being who created the System itself, with intentions to use Jin-woo as a vessel, making him a behind-the-scenes threat, unknown to the world itself other than the higher beings. Kamish (The Dragon): A legendary threat from the past, responsible for massive destruction, highlighting the scale of danger from powerful entities. Powerful Hunters: National-level Hunters like Thomas Andre also pose challenges.

Magic & Religion

In the world, magic is a quantifiable natural energy called mana that grants superhuman abilities to "awakened" humans (Hunters). Religion, as an organized belief system for worship or propitiation, is largely absent among the general populace, though the ultimate source of power involves god-like entities. Awakening and Ranking: The sudden appearance of "Gates" (portals to dungeons) caused certain humans to awaken with the ability to sense and control mana. Their power is measured and categorized into ranks: E, D, C, B, A, S, and Nation Level. A hunter's power level is generally fixed upon awakening, but can rarely posses a second reawakening.

Planar Influences

Gates are blue portals connecting Earth to other dimensions, filled with monsters and a boss, ranked E (weakest) to S (strongest) by their mana, and must be cleared within days to prevent a dangerous "Dungeon Break" where monsters flood the human world. A key variation is the Red Gate, a hidden trap that turns a normal dungeon into a deadly, time-dilated dimension where escape is only possible by defeating the boss or waiting for a break, making them far more treacherous than they first appear.

Monsters & Villains

Magic Beasts, also called the Denizens of Chaos, are magical monsters that reside inside Dungeons. Due to the manipulations of the Rulers, the vast majority of them are extremely hostile towards humans. the Monarchs are also enemies of humanity.
