In the shattered realm of Mortaria, seven fraternal kingdoms wage endless war, each ruled by a brother who vies to become the one true king while harnessing the mysterious Weave of the goddess Shar to bend reality itself. Amidst crumbling ancient temples, wandering merchants, and lurking demonic cults, adventurers must navigate lawless frontiers, forge unlikely alliances, and uncover the truth of a rumored eighth brother who could either unite the land or unleash a long‑sealed evil upon the world.

World Overview

there is magic in the seven kingdoms some are naturally born with it, and others dedicate their entire lives to learning it the technology is a mid-evil society so horses carts thatch houses castles all the things. The reason there are seven kingdoms is because a mighty king Ardor had seven sons and none will bow to the other so they have broken into seven different kingdoms warring and plotting trying to become the one true king of Mortaria.

Geography & Nations

The eldest brother Conan took control of the old kingdom of Mortaria's capital city of Thein and its surrounding lands which are on the coast and rich plains in the north western part of the seven kingdoms. The next brother Arrod took control of the mountains in central Mortaria building his castle and cities along the Scarred Mountian chain. The third brother Nicium Took refuge and control in the icy and frozen north building his fortifications and castle there. The fourth brother Tritus took control of the forests to the south building his fortifications and castle there deep in the heart of the Elven Grove. The fifth brother Lorkin Sought refuge in the southwest where the plains and woods come together he has a small foothold there but his soldiers are loyal and will defend his castle and lands until the last breath. The sixth brother Zurin took refuge in the deserts to the west he controls the northwest half where he built his castle and the seventh brother controls the southwest. The seventh brother took control of the deserts in the southwest building his castle there.

Races & Cultures

Humans, Elves, Orks, Goblins, Gnomes, Halflings, Tieflings, and any combination of these all live in the seven kingdoms. Humans had conquered all the lands and there was peace but since the king has died and his heirs cannot respect one of them being the one true king lawlessness has creeped back into the lands in between these seven kingdoms so all are friendly but all can be foe as well.

Current Conflicts

All seven brothers and their respective small kingdoms are at war with each other vying for control and to be called the one true king of the seven kingdoms formally known as Mortaria. There are rumors of an eighth brother the king fathered out of wedlock but no one knows if this is true. The one true king can unify the kingdom and bring peace to the realm if he can make all the other brothers bow to him and pledge their loyalty. The seven kingdoms are always looking for sell swords and warriors for their armies and to protect their trade caravans which go too far off lands for supplies. Rumor has it that if the eighth borther can be found he can unite the kingdom problem is he may not know who he is.

Magic & Religion

anyone can use magic in the realm but those born with the ability are attached to what is called the weave and it is where all magic comes from and you draw your power the more connected to the weave you are the more powerful you can become. Those not born but choose to study magic are not attached to the weave but can reach in and steal some of its power they will never be as strong as a natural born magic users but can be more cunning and creative in their use because the goddess of the weave has no control over them. The goddess of the weave is Shar and if you are a natural born magic user she is the one who granted you with that power and worship of her can enhance your connection to the weave. Any other magic used that is outside of Shars control comes from the blessing of a god or a pact made with an entity for power.

Planar Influences

Natural magic users can blink in and out of this plane and into the plane of the weave to cross distances they can see in the blink of an eye they cannot stay long though for Shar gets mad at those that linger in her weave. The godly plane is above the weave, and it is where the gods reside and mortals do not go here until death unless summoned by a god at some point in their life this plane is where the gods control from and the more worship a god gets the vaster their godly estate is in Heaven.

Historical Ages

Mortaria was the kingdom before and people still use the roads they built and some of the cities but the great king Ardor statues and great buildings he built for the good of the public are starting to decay with no one upkeeping them. Also some of the old gods temples are starting to decay because worship has slowly dwindled because of the constant fear since there is no central peace in the seven kingdoms.

Economy & Trade

Gold, silver, and copper are the main currencies of the realm and some of the brothers have made soft alliances with one another to trade for goods to keep their small kingdoms fed and maintained while others trade with far distant lands for their supplies. as long as you are not a soldier of one of the seven different kingdoms you are free to roam the realm at your danger though since their is no central government there is no law and order in the spaces in between but merchants see coin to be made carrying goods from one of the warring kingdoms to the other so they risk it to make a coin.

Law & Society

In the small kingdoms of the seven brothers justice is by law and a judge and jury the punishment fits the crime in the spaces in between these small kingdoms it is frontier justice every man for himself and the strong survive. Adventurers are admired by some and feared by few people admire how they have the courage and strength to venture into the lawless lands in between the seven small kingdoms.

Monsters & Villains

dragons, dire wolves, bears, mountain lions, all big and small normal game inhabit these lands. There are demons and necromancer cults that worship the god of the dead Nimek and they do obscene and ghastly rituals to gain their power and favor from their god. It is said there is an ancient evil that has awoken from its cage sone the great king Ardor died and is trying to get out to wreak even more havoc on the realm it is an evil he sealed away a very long time ago and people have all but forgotten about so he could bring peace to the realm.
