In a world where magic flows as freely as air, humans and beast-people coexist, their imaginations shaping spells that power everything from flying cars to mana‑coin economies, while the astral plane whispers guidance to the rare few who can hear it. Amid peaceful progress, debates over technology’s role in magic and lingering prejudice against beast-people test the fragile harmony of this enchanted Earth.

World Overview

There is a high level of magic used on the world. but the progression of technology advanced along with magic. Magic requires mana to use and how dense the ambient magic is determines how fast you recover mana. you can also cast with ambient magic. magic also heavily relies on ones imagination to be used effectively, to its fullest extent and can bypass restrictions on spells. mana can be converted to physical things if the image is clear and precise, magic can also be cast this way. Technology has advanced to the point of cellphones, advanced computers at home and flying cars. tech has also been integrated with magic but is still early on.

Geography & Nations

the geography is the same as earth

Races & Cultures

There are humans and beast-people. the beast-people are anthropomorphic versions of animals(bears, wolves, sheep, foxes, rabbits, cows, any animal you can think of), are about 1/3 the total population of beast-people and humans combined and have thumbs. the beast-people are on the same intelligence level of humans and are generally accepted. Beast-people tend to have a higher affinity for magic and can use it since birth. while humans have to learn how to use magic purposefully. Humans get along with each other well enough and beast-people get along great with other beast-people.

Current Conflicts

There are some people who dislike the beast-people even though they have both been around for the same amount of time and developed everything together. There has been debates about magic casting devices (MCDs) being lazy and disrespectful of natural casting methods. there are debates about if beast-people and humans should be separated but are generally found to be stupid opinions by most. otherwise everything is quite peaceful.

Magic & Religion

Magic is integrated into society. everyone can use magic but only some can use it to its fullest degree and naturally. Normal people use devices to help with casting more moderate spells. There are gods that have formed from areas of magic, like knowledge, healing, death, destruction and similar. how prevalent they are is dependent on how people view them but they have control over what they represent

Planar Influences

there is a plane called the astral that is heavy with magic and it exists on the same plane as the world but can only be felt, there are ways to see it or measure the ambient magic it produces. it can be accessed my those with good intentions, and building a positive rapport with it. it has a conciseness that guides people to who, what, when and where they need to be like a gentle and loving mother. but it can be hard handed with those who abuse its power and pervert its nature and others. some people can speak directly with it but it is really rare, like 5 in a generation.

Historical Ages

the magic age when magic was being developed. there are objects from this time scattered around the globe and are believed to hold strong and potent magic. some are real and many are fake.

Economy & Trade

people use mana coins as currency. they are made in farms that concentrate mana from the ambient mana into coins. they are valued from lowest to highest as; iron, bronze, silver, gold and diamond. 1000 iron coins are equal to one bronze coin, 1000 bronze coins are equal to one silver coin, 1000 silver coins are equal to 1 gold coin and 1000 gold coins are equal to 1 diamond coin. almost everything can be bought with iron coins. a large house would cost 890 silver coins, a simple meal would cost about 10 iron. a one-night-stay would cost about 100 iron coins.

Law & Society

Laws to protect people from each other, large groups, corporations and employers are fair and just.

What is Spindle?

Spindle is an interactive reading app where you become the main character in richly crafted story worlds. Think of it like stepping inside your favorite book—you make choices, shape relationships, and discover how the story unfolds around you. If you love series like Fourth Wing or A Court of Thorns and Roses, Spindle lets you live inside worlds with that same depth and drama.

How do I start a story in Earth?

Tap "Create Story" and create your character—give them a name, a look, and a backstory. From there, the story opens around you and you guide it by choosing what your character says and does. There's no wrong way to read; every choice leads somewhere interesting, and the narrative adapts to you.

Can I write my own fiction?

Absolutely. Spindle gives storytellers the tools to build and publish their own worlds—craft the lore, the characters, the conflicts, and the magic. Once you publish, other readers can discover and experience your story. It's a beautiful way to share the worlds living in your imagination.

Is Spindle a game?

Spindle is more of an interactive reading experience than a traditional game. There are no scores to chase or levels to grind. The focus is on story, character, and the choices you make. Think of it as a novel where you're the protagonist—the pleasure is in the narrative, not the mechanics.
