The surface of this world is mostly black sand deserts filled with sparse plant life and abundant desert dwelling creatures. Mostly nomadic tribes litter the surface, while kingdoms inhabit the vast cave systems and sparse rocky mountains. Vast cave systems allow for plants and crystals of various magical properties to allow abundant life. The surface desert is filled with many deadly predators including massive tunneling worms that hunt the surface areas by swimming in the sand. They cannot pass through soild rock, and this is why most cities build in the cave systems. The surface is constantly being heated by a black sun that never fully sets. The land is black sand dunes with occasional rocky mountain ranges.

Surface travel is dangerous due to the sand worms, but other surface predators pose a threat to traveling caravans of merchants and settlers as well.
